Monsters Inc Refurb?

Anybody know anything about why Monsters is down from the Monday after Thanksgiving until at least Dec 31st? It is on the calendar as a ride closure, but that seems awfully long for a refurb on a one year old ride...?

That's very weird. I'm not sure why. It might just be an error on the website (Disney has a reputation for not great websites). But if it's not, I don't know why it wouldn't be open during busy Christmas season. I keep thinking that it's not the dark ride, but I don't know what else it would be.

Could be related to the big DCA upgrade, over 1 billion dollars is being spent. They are planning a major re-theming of Hollywood backdrop, including the area round monsters inc. The next 18 months is going is see a lot of rebuilding in DCA, you can expect a lot of disruption there...

That's what I thinking, too, but I cannot think of anything else it could be.

It doesn't seem to make sense that it would be shut down due to the remodel of the park, as that attraction is not even slated for a change at this point, and I read that it is starting in other areas of the park first anyways.

Monsters Inc Refurb isnt on the CM list of refurbs...

only Golden Dream is is going into rehab for the months of Sept, Oct, Nov.

Does your schedule go all the to Nov 26th? i think that was the first day it was down... If it's not on the cm schedule, then my fingers are cossed that it was a major typo!

CM know all refurbs up to 3 months... so the refurb list that START in Nov is out for CMs.

I hope it isn't down for our trip in early December, my daughter loves that ride.

It's down on the Disneyland calendar for when we will be there, Dec. 3-12th. It's the only ride in both parks that is down for refurbisment during that time.

I sure hope its not going down in December, Monsters Inc was the 1st movie we took our daughter to and we are looking forward to the ride. I thought refurbs were done in January... Is there someone we can call so that they will delay it until then.

The Monster's Inc. refurb is on the DL Calendar from Nov 26 through the end of the year. It is also now officially on MousePlanet's refurb list.

My bet is that is will, in fact, be down. Darn, we like that ride a lot.

I'm honestly not surprised. Wouldn't be the first time CM's weren't notified of park happenings.
