I am planning a trip to UO beginning August 13th, 2012. Monster's Cafe looks like a really fun and interesting place to eat however it is my understanding that it operates only seasonally. The hours aren't up yet for August so I was wondering if there was anybody out there who might know what the "typical" dates would be for it's operation in past years? I know last year it was closed when we were there but that was in late August and we are going a little earlier this year.

At last report, Monsters Cafe is operating on normal business hours again. It should be open when you visit.

That's great news and I hope you're right! My two kids would love the theming here and I am a horror movie fan myself. Can't wait to check it out!

Since Amity and its eateries got demolished, Monsters Cafe is open.It was open in January when we went

Is there any firm news as to Monsters Cafe operating dates? All it says on the Universal Orlando website is that it is open seasonally. We will be there beginning August 13th and I really hope it will be open at that time.

It has been open constantly since early January.

It was open last weekend. Im going t try and get over there tom and will look and see if I can get a firm answer, but my opinion like posted before is that it will be open for a while at least until the area is completed. Possibly after that.

It's a bit pricey for pizza, but I also think they have the best (and biggest) pizza slices of any theme park in Orlando (to be fair, I haven't tried Via Napoli at Epcot). I went this weekend and was immediately looking forward to getting a couple slices and a side of Nathan's french fries. And since the pizza still had like two minutes to cook they threw in a free soda and brought everything to my table when it was ready.

I'm a pretty big pizza pan, and have tried it everywhere we go. Most are just cheap and bad, with the pizza stand on Disney's Boardwalk being extraordinarily bad (and expensive), but Monster Cafe has the real deal. My grandmother (from Brooklyn) has always been a fan of Nathan's hot dogs, so she always enjoys those as well.

We had the strangest experience with Monsters Cafe in May. It was maybe about 6:30 or 7. I don't remember exactly but it was about an hour and a half before park closing and we wanted to eat at the Studios so we went in. It was open ..but completely empty. No patrons, no staff, nobody behind the counters that we could see. Nothing:confused3
We didn't stay long .. just long enough to walk in, see it completely empty and turn around and walk out:rotfl:
I wonder if it was closing and they forgot to lock the door? Only way I can explain it.

Interesting.....maybe some monster dropped in unexpectedly and cleared the place out! Kind of curious, I agree.......
