DH is thinking of buying tickets to take DS to the Bigfoot Rolling-Thunder monster truck jam when it comes to town. We can still get front row seats. We always said that, at least once, we should take DS to a monster truck rally. And, this should be a good one. I don't think the tickets are cheap. It's kind of a splurge thing, especially it was just Christmas!

DH wants me to go too. (I am not a monster-truck sort of person!! LOL!!!) But, it's one of those things that might be fun to see DS experience.

I told DH that I feel like Jill Taylor (Tim the Toolman's wife)

Has anybody ever been to one of these?

Did your kids really like it?

Ah, yes, I did one Monster Truck rally. Once was more than enough, but the men liked it and the boys did, too.

I have and it was alot of fun. I wouldn't mind going again but I'd definately take some ear plugs it gets really loud. Expect to smell fumes like gasoline and such..it did get strong at one point. I have two boys so this was right up their ally.

Have fun!

THis in our city on Jan. 20th for $18.00 per adult, $5.00 per child under 12. I'm buying tics for my DH and my DS8 for them to go together, it really is a "guy" thing, I don't have any desire to go back....but I wouldn't want the front sections though, cuz I'm such a worrier by nature, that I'm afraid if a truck lost control or can't stop, the lower sections are targets

Yes on the EARPLUGS

Yes on NO FRONT row plus MID SECTION is a better veiw in my opinion

Oh goodness!!!!

Thanks everybody. LOL!!! Dan.

I will mention that in our venue, even the front row seats are actually what is called lower-balcony. No way would I want to be on floor level at a monster truck jam!!! :earseek:

DH has a set of head-phone ear protectors that are used for shooting.... I have already talked to my DS, joking around, that we would bring our ear protectors and be sitting there wearing these things watching the monster truck jam! :music: :music: (no music, of course!)

Definitely a guy thing, but Mom has to try it once. We all went as a family the first time, me, DH, DD, and DS. Definitely take ear plugs!! Half way through, I look over at DD - she's bored to tears, must say, so am I. DS and DH look like kids in a candy shop!! It's been a Daddy/Son outing since then. DS LOVES Monster Trucks!!
