Monster Jam

sorry this is not disney related ... but just wondering if anyone has been and if you think an almost 4 year old would be to young to go to the Moster Jam Rally at the Dome in Jan. My DS is turning 4 in March and absolutly loves Hot Wheels Moster Trucks ... he has a whole collection of them ... I thought this would make a nice stocking suffer for him and my DH... but am worried about the noise factor and him maybe being to young ...

My family has not personally been, but our friends did take their sons to the Dome to see Monster Jam. They brought ear plugs for the kids and said it was really really loud. They are not sensitive to noise, so if your son is sensitive maybe wait till you can take him to a monster truck show that is outdoors. You could always get those big industrial headphones for him to cut down the noise. Other than that I am sure he would love it. I know my sons would.

Take him, he will have a great time. I agree with the last post though, about letting your son wear the industrial headphones to filter out the noise as it is very loud in the Dome.
If there are any left, try to get the Pit passes so you guys can go down on the "track" before the event and take pics and be right up close with the trucks!!! My parents took me every year since I was about 4 or 5, and I still go every Jan or Feb when the "Jam" comes to Toronto!!!

I have been taking my son for 3 years now and will take my other one next year (when he is 4). We always get pit passes by son loves to get right up close. Headphones/ear plugs are a must for everyone. The DB level is got to be up in the 140's

Really great show. Grave Digger is always the fav but the other trucks really try their hardest.

We took our son to his 1st show when he was 4. The noise level was very painful for him with just earplugs, and I had to take him out several times.

He enjoyed it much more in following year(s) with the industrial hearing protector things.

I would say 4 is just on the cusp. We have taken DS for the last 3 years and it has gradually gotten better (he will be 5 in Feb). He wears DH's 'ear-defenders' which are the big kind like construction workers etc wear. You might think of getting a pair for yourself - it truly is 'shake your tummy' loud! Also - bringing snacks is not a bad idea - we always spend a TON on junk food there and I often wish I had remembered to bring some snacks. We have always been on the middle-priced seats and I don't think being right up front is a big deal for this show - as everything is larger than life. One other thing you might consider is coming into the show about 1 or 1 1/2 hours after it starts. Although you might have to kick someone out of your seat, they usually run mini-trucks, ATVs, RC cars and dirtbikes before the monster trucks come out. The show is actually quite long - like 3 1/2 hours - so it is sometimes hard to keep their attention for that long (and teh seats are hard on the butt ).

Anyway - just my two cents
