Hey guys,

I was super excited to get a monster 40% off code. We are AP holders so we were going to do the 40% off room and add dining to it w/o the requirement of park tickets (since we're AP's)

With AP codes, we always have been able to add dining so I didn't see this as a issue.

But this morning I called to book and the Monster code can only add dining if we buy park tickets.....

Has anyone else w/ an AP booked on the Monster pin and added dining w/o buying additional park tickets??

I'm hoping that I just got wrong info, but if this is the case I'll just have to wait for an AP code to book.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to inform you, but we had to buy 1 day ticket for each person. We are adding the price of that ticket to the weekday AP florida Resident ticket.

Yes but are you already AP holders? Disney has a special thing for AP's where if you book under an AP rate you can add dining w/o any tickets being purchased.

We got room ressies using the 40% deluxe AP discount, and were able to add the CS meal plan.. no park tix needed.. Was this an email code you got?? I booked mine right online with the 40% off a deluxe hotel (others were discounted too) right from the AP part of the disney site..

Yes it was the Monster email pin that some people have been getting. The CM told me that if it was an AP code rate, we would have been able to book dining onto it.

I'm using the pin instead of an AP rate at this time b/c currently the current AP rates only go until August. As far as I know, there are no AP rates for October released as of yet.

Bolded part of your quote above... that is why you need to purchase park tickets to get the DDP w/your PIN. You aren't using an AP rate, so the AP "ticketless DDP package" is not applicable. The only other instance AP holders can add dining without buying tickets is when paying rack rate. I am an AP holder and I tried to book a bounceback rate w/DDP (without buying tickets) and was told the same thing. Only AP rates or rack rate can be made into a ticketless package. So I cancelled the bouneback and booked w/ the AP rate, when it came out.

Thanks for this info! I think I'll do exactly that & just hold tight until I can get an AP rate for Oct. It's good to know that about bounceback.

It's pretty silly actually, I'm willing to give them money now but instead I've cancelled my reservation & I'll wait until the fall AP codes come out....ahhhh the Disney reservation system! :rolleyes1

Disney Dining Plan

Annual Passholders can now add the Disney Dining Plan to their reservation. This will make the booking a package subject to the terms and conditions of those reservations. (Paid in full 45 days in advance, etc.)

Availability of the Disney Dining Plan add-on is limited and cannot be combined with any other discounts (AAA, Bounceback, etc.) It can be applied to a AP discounted room as well as one that's rack rate.

from http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-ap.htm.

I booked QSDP with AP code in January for 3, with a room with only 2 guests getting 1-day tix (I am the AP holder), with a PIN that had been emailed to many (not an AP discount).

That is true - but this particular discount does not apply to the special AP packages. Therefore even if you have an AP you must buy at least a one-day park ticket to be eligible for the discount.

I know your question has already been answered. We got the Monster pin (in my sister's name) but we are booking with the June AP rate which works better for our June trip. Monster pin is a different discount, than the AP room only package with dining plan.

WDTC sells ticketless packages for AP-ers.
Not necessarily the same.
