I'm hoping to book a monorail resort at 7 months out for Jersey Week 2015 (Nov 4th-8th). What are my chances of securing BLT, VGF or even Wilderness (which I know is not on the monorail but close enough)?

Don't forget that the DVC Poly should be open by November 2015. Not only will this mean that more villas will be available for booking, but that owners of VGF, BLT, and VWL might be using their points at the Poly, thereby freeing up inventory at their home resorts. So your chances will probably be slightly better in 2015 than in previous years.

It depends on the size of room you are looking for- studios or 2 bedroom lockoffs at GFV are basically nonexistent at 7 months, but the other rooms have some scattered availability and Grand Villas there I think have always been available at 7 months.

BLT- lakeview has a good probability of openings especially if you are at all flexible with room size, again 1 bedrooms tend to book up slower.

I don't know about Wilderness Lodge but think it is generally open right at 7 months at that time of year.

Reserve your home resort at 11 months out. In 2014, for Nov 5-9, the same Wednesday through Sunday you desire to get, VWL, BLT and VGF had some of the nights already full in all room categories, particularly the Thursday through Sat. In fact, all resorts had some nights full, even SSR other than 1BRs for Friday night, one of the only two nights of the year (NYE is the other) when SSR faces any risk of being booked before 7 months out. As to reasons, Jersey week is one but it is also a popular time for other school closings for teacher conferences, it is the last weekend of Food & Wine, Saturday is the Food & Wine half marathon, Christmas decorations in MK begin that weekend, as does Mickey's after hours Christmas party, and points are still in the second lowest season.
