jUST BACK FROM WDW. WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW MANY MONORAILS THERE ARE? WHAT ARE THERE COLORS? WHERE DO THEY PUT THEM AT NIGHT? HOW ABOUT CLEANING AND SERVICING?

Couple years ago we took a tour where we went in back of Magic Kingdom and saw the place where the monorails go. It's a two story building, monorails on top and steam engines on the bottom.........

There are twelve monorails at WDW - the current Mark VI monorails, built by Bombardier, started service in 1989. They are stored in the Roundhouse, above the steam trains, behind the MK park. Following the steam train spur off of the Mickey's Toontown station leads to the Roundhouse. That is where all cleaning and servicing is done to the trains.

The colors are Red, Black, Blue, Gold, Silver, Lime, Peach, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple and Pink.

Any other questions about the Monorails?

when you are at DW, ask to sit up front and ask the drive all your questions about the monorail. We had a wonderful young lady who was trilled to answer all of my DS's questions and there were a lot. She knew the answeres to everyone.

Last time we visited (2 Years Ago) we heard rumors of a large Monorail expansion project. Can anyone fill me in on that?
