As a DVC member are you able to park at Poly/CR for lunch/dinner and go to Epcot or MK via monorail

When we parked at Poly for a breakfast, we were given a 3 hour parking pass. I believe they discourage parking at one of the monorail resorts and riding to a park.

I have never had a problem at the Poly. Usually valet, eat and jump on the monorail for the day or whatever. Sometimes a little more of a hassle at the CR, probably because it's so close to the park!

There are NO special DVC parking privileges at other resorts. Every WDW resort guest (DVC resorts included) will receive a parking pass which allows them to park at the Parks and at other resorts. Some resorts (Poly and Contemp) have begun their own parking policies to limit the number of people who park there just to avoid crowds in the MK and Epcot parking lots. Apparently, the 3 hour limit is one method they have chosen to accomplish this.

When I was there last month, they were passing out the 3 hour permits at the Contemporary, but not at the Poly or GF (we had PS at all 3). I think it depends on how crowded they are. We were staying at Coronado, so it had nothing to with DVC.

We have received 3 hour parking pass's at the Contemp, Poly and GF.

What happens if you exceed the three hour limit at the CR,Poly or GF?

We parked at the Poly with a 3 hour pass during President's week and got back to our car after 4 hours - nothing happened, it was still there!

If the lot gets full, they will go through the lot looking for expired time limits on temp permits. Then they start towing. That's only if it gets full. If the lot does not fill up, they do not go around looking to tow.

When you get to the gate and do not have a GF, Contemp or Poly permit, they give you a date and time stamped permit with instructions to put that on your dash.

I wish they did it at BW too.

Hi neighbors! The snow is still falling - oh, I wish I was you know where...
Last year we parked all over without parking passes, but this year they gave us the 3 hour pass at the Poly. At GF we used valet, and everywhere else they just waved us in.
I think people were taking advantage of parking at a monorail resort and using the transportation to get to the parks, leaving their cars there all day. I don't know what they would do if you have the pass on your dashboard and left your car there all day....

if you valet park do they still inforce a time limit since you are in a different area of the parking lot ?

I always valet park and have never had anyone mention any time limit. The valets have no idea who you are, I have never been asked for a membership card. If this 3 hour limit thing gets enforced it tells me Disney should be increasing the size of their parking lots or improving their transportation system (more monorails).

At the Poly, to get to the valet parking you must first pass through the gate, where the attendant will stop you and question the reason you are visiting the Resort. He/she is the one who decides if you will need a 3 hour pass. Not possible to valet park without first talking to the lot attendant.
