Can you enter the park from the monorail entrace near Rainforest if its your first trip into the park for the day. I wasnt sure if you had to enter thru the main enterance.

Entering through the monorail side is fine. I just think that magic mornings are the only times when you have to enter through the main gates for the first time entry.

Are you staying on property? I think you can use the monorail for MM as well then, as long as you have the pass they give you when you check into the hotel.

Yes, you are right.. We were told that only guests staying on property can use the monorail for MM entry

Does the monorail start running prior to park opening and MM or does it start when the park opens? Just wondering which would get me into the park quicker.

From experience, the monorail starts running when the park opens.. It runs for MM, but only for disney hotel guests. You will need to show your charge slip to enter the monorail turnstile.

We have had good and bad luck with riding the monorail for park opening.. There have been times when it would have been better to wait in line at the main gate than waiting in line for the monorail..

If we are one of the first few people in line, we will wait for the monorail, if not then we will hike it down to the main gate.

Is that a new policy?

When we were there in Feb, we were in line for the monorail for MM with a bunch of non-Disney hotel people.

We also found that it was better to just walk to the main gates to get in than to wait for the monorail. I wish it was more efficient than it is.

Depending on what you want to do for MM, most of the vets on this board agree that it's better to enter at the main gates rather than take the Monorail. The monorail doesn't always start running right at opening, so you could be appreciably behind the rush by the time you get over to Tomorrowland. Nemo could possibly be up to 45 minutes or more by the time you get over there. Peter Pan will already have a wait. Especially on a busy day.

HTH!

I don't think it's new. Maybe for anyone with MM entry then. They would have had to check that one way or another for you.

There are times, busy times on busy days, where the monorail is reserved only for hotel guests.

btw, on a tangent, what's the status of the Mark VIIs? I get there Saturday and would love to ride one of the new ones (hoping the hot weather isn't all it's cracked up to be).
