I think there is one time when you are transferring between monorails that you can walk straight across the platform at the TTC instead of going down the ramps then back up. Does anyone else remember this?

I don't know if it is the resorts to the epcot or the mk express to the epcot.

It's MK express to Epcot. I did this just the other day! It is super nice not to have to go down all those ramps.

Yes that is Correct, I do not like to walk around all those ramps, I always miss the monorail, because when we get off the other Monorail is already there too.. It leaves before we can make it down and up the ramps..

I always wondered why they did this. Why not have some other way to do it? There is one (I think it is the resort monorail to the epcot monorail) where you walk down a shorter ramp around the back of the TTC to get to the other side....that isn't that bad of a walk, but the others can kill you! Especially after a long day of walking the parks!

ah, that has a lot to do with the history of that monorail station. Before Epcot opened, there was about a year of preview where you would take the monorail over to the epcot station, you would watch a video and a presentation about what was coming. Then you would ride back.

If you were going back to the magic kingdom... and there were monorail lines, you had to filter in a longer line... where as going to epcot, the amount of people getting off the monorail from mk would be the same about of people getting on the to epcot. So they could walk across the platform.

I hope that description makes sense

Interesting...thanks for sharing! I love learning about the little histories, factoids, etc about WDW! Thanks!!

I can't speak for the Express Monorail, however when getting of the Resort Monorail at the TTC and switching to the Epcot Monorail this is what you do. There will be an overhead sign which says to turn right and you walk down a small ramp and walk up another one to the Epcot Monorail section. So it's almost like a guided route because it's connected in a way so you don't make a wrong turn.

Yeah, that's the one I'm talking about! Love that ramp...wish they would all have that.... I hate having to go down and back up, especailly the huge ramps!

Like I said before the way I explained it you would go that way coming of the Resort Monorail when arriving at the TTC.

If you are on the Express Monorail (Outer Loop) from MK you just walk across the platform to the boarding side of the Epcot Monorail.

If you are on the Resort (Local) Monorail (Inner Loop) from MK or the Resorts you have to go down a ramp, under the outer loop and up a ramp to the Epcot Boarding Paltform.

To go from the Epcot Monorail to either MK loop you have to use the regular down ramp and then go up along with all other Guests to the MK monorails.
