I have heard if you want to wait to ride in front of monorail that this is an option for anyone. Do you know if they can take a wheel chair and if so how many in your party can ride with you in front. Has anyone done this and what is the usual wait time. Like maybe 3 passes or so. The person in our party cannot get out of wheel chair. Thank you. :dance3: :grouphug: popcorn:: :rotfl2:

I think you are out of luck.

From reccollection, there is at least one setp up into the driver's cab and the door isn't especially wide. There is plenty of seating but your wheelchair user would have to be lifted in and his or her chair folded.

There is a photo in one of the threads here.

Go to the transportation board - 'ChipnDale' one of the moderators there, is a former monorail driver.

I don't think it is wheelchair accessible.

I do know that only 4 are allowed up front.

Unfortunately it's not wheelchair accessible. I managed to ride up front on my last trip, but I had to hobble myself on and have my wheelchair lifted in after me. There is 1 step to get in, and only just space for a folded wheelchair (no room for a rigid frame).

Very sorry to disappoint you.

The cab of the monorail is designed so that there is no support for weight on the nose of the cab. Thus there is a weight limit on the cab. They allow up to 4 adults and/or kids to ride in the cab no matter the person's weight. As stated the cab doors are not wide enough for a standard wheelchair. Guests however can wheel up to the cab and get in via companion assistance or walking in. The wheelchair or ECV then can be stored in the regular cars.

I suggest strongly that people watch the videos on youtube as you are riding above ground at high speeds. There is no getting off if you panic. Tell the CM that you would like to ride up front and make arrangements for storage of the ECV or wheelchair if need be. Wait times depends on how busy the monorail is. Sometimes you can walk in and get right on and other times you might have to wait for several monorails to pass. Riding in the rear cab is no longer allowed

Sorry they will not allow/cannot accommodate a wheelchair. A standard wheelchair would not fit through the entrance door, it is very narrow and has a step over. Because of the shape of the cab it is quite a small space with narrow, moulded plastic bench type seats, no good if you need any sort of support for sitting either.

4 passengers are allowed at any one time and you may have to wait for quite a while as lots of trains already have someone riding in the front.

It's a great shame it's not accessible DS would love that.
