I booked a one bedroom villa at BCV for DH, DD 2 and myself. We went when DD was 6mo and stayed at the Poly. The only problem was our room. She would go to sleep and we would have to sit and whisper then go to sleep early. I thought the villa was one of my best ideas yet, but I am thinking I might regret not having the monorail. Do all the ammenities of the villa outway the monorail?

We are also DVC owners, so, it is "cheaper" on points for us to use the villas anyways, and after staying in one, I dont know if I could go back to a regular hotel room. My DS will be 3 1/2 when we go this December, it will be his 3rd trip - and we LOVE having the full kitchen and the sep BR, for exactly why you said - the napping & sleeping thing.

I say stick with the Villa, the missing monorail has not bothered us at all.

I have stayed at the GF when DD was almost 3yo. I have stayed at the BWV when my DS was 8mo. I have to say that the ease of the monorail was nothing compared to the amenities in the villa. And we were just in a studio!! I can only imagine how great a 1bdrm would be. You have your own full size kitchen!! Your own washer and dryer in the room. A jacuzzi tub!! Don't forget you will be in walking distance to both MGM and Epcot. My DD has always loved both these parks at every age(she is 6yo now and has gone every year of her life!!) The pool at the BC is said to be the best on property! I would say stick with the villa. You won't regret it!

As DVC members, I would have to go with the villa. You can't beat having a washer/dryer and fridge! At age 2, you're not going to run into too many times when you're needing to wheel a stroller onto the monorail with a sleeping baby. You WILL enjoy having a separate room. We miss our villa so much when we vacation at other places!

I've been thinking the same thing about our big trip planned for July 05. We will have a 1 year old and an almost 3 year old, and although the rooms at the Polynesian are nice and big, I was thinking of all the conveniences of a 2 bedroom villa (my parents will be travelling with us). So I will wait and see what is available when I am ready to book and compare the cost of a 2 bedroom villa (at any Home Away From Home) with a lagoon view room at the Polynesian.

Another vote for the Villa!

Our twins loved SAB when they were 2. I think they enjoyed the sandy baby pool area more than the parks!

We stayed at Poly in Dec 2001 when DD was 9 months old, our next trip we had joined DVC and stayed at BCV in a one bedroom, no question about it, BCV all the way.

Poly is lovely, the monorail and great but the bennifits of BCV outway it by far. For one thing you will be doing a lot of walkig outside, where as most of BCV you can do inside or covered in the rain. Walking to Epcot is easier then taking the monorail to MK and often in the evening you end up at Epcot because the other parks are not open as late. Also there is the boat to MGM and the boardwalk and all the restants at S&D close by too.

Having said that SAB can not be beat for best places for 2 year olds. It was by far the best part of our entire trip. 2 year old DD loved that place. The sand bottom pool is amazing.

And while Poly is close to MK (and this is important) It is far away from everyother place. I thought the busses at BCV were fine. We even could see the MK fireworks at night from our 5th floor pool view 1 bedroom. We also love Beachs and Cream.

And this isn't even getting into how much better the accomdations at BCV are, I think that was covered already. You can save 100$ in food by staying at a villa with a young kid. It is so much eaiser.

BTW some people walk across Epcot and take the monorail from there, but I don't recomend this unless you do Epoct 1st then head out to MK.

DisneyPhD - I agree with all your reasons for loving the BCV.

A comment - We prefer to take the bus to MK early in the morning and then ride the monorail back to Epcot. This works great because by the afternoon/evening most people are in WS. We usually do a few rides and walk back to the room. Sometimes we get a yummy beavertail in Canada or if it is lunch we will carry out the Fish & Chips.
