DH and I have always stayed at BC in the past and we LOVE it, but we are wondering if we should really consider a monorail resort this time because we'll be bringing our 16 month old twins with us for the first time.

We will have a car so transportation is not a huge issue, I'm just wondering if we'll regret not choosing monorail. Thanks for any input!

I understand your dilemma as we still go through the same dilemma. Our twins are older now (4 yrs old), but we still take our double jogger and it's hard to beat the convenience of the monorail resorts and the Epcot resorts. Either area, you shouldn't need to take your car to parks very often. Enjoy the convenience of rolling your stroller right on the monorail, boats, or else walking to some parks.

Maybe base your decision on which park you think you'll be going to the most? If MK, then choose a monorail resort. If Epcot and Studios, then go with BC. Although you know what? When we stayed at BC and our twins were around the same age as yours will be, we actually did some rides in Epcot and then jumped on the monorail to MK. We rarely had to unload our stroller and fold it up. It was nice because we packed the stroller with all the baby supplies and our kids took cat naps at all different times of the day, so we appreciated the fact that we could just let them remain in the stroller without waking them.

Also don't forget the character meals will be free for your twins, so take advantage of that! We did Chef Mickeys a lot when our kids were that age.

I probably didn't do much to help you with your decision, but rest assured that I don't think there is a wrong decision here. You are deciding between the best of both worlds.

With 16 month old twins I think you will love the convince of having the Monorail right there no matter the Resort you pick.

We love the monorail, but we're a little partial because my brother drives it. ;)

The monorail is great with kids. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old and I love having the convenience.

Our 2 year old has been down to Disney twice and the first time we stayed at the POR. It was a lot harder to use the buses with our stroller. It was a hassle sometimes.

The second time we went with our 2 year old, we stayed at the Poly and it was SOO much nicer with the monorail right out the door.

We enjoy getting to the parks "smoothly" and it couldn't have gone any smoother with the monorail. :goodvibes

Have a great trip!

Yes, make the switch. You'll appreciate the convenience of the monorail to MK enormously!

I love BC (dvc owner here) so if you're going with a Villa I'd say BC. However, if you're doing a regular hotel room I say go for a monorail resort for the convenience!

Yes the monorail is convenient for MK, but that's it. I'm going in Sept and taking my my son for first time - he will almost be 2 then. I'm staying at BWV because I think that's one of the most convenient areas in Disney resorts. Not only are you a a boat ride or walk away from 2 parks (bosts are easier than buses with strollers) you are conveniently near restaurants. Cape May, as you probably know has a great Character Breakfast - so convenient to get to in the morning from your hotel with a little on. Plus you have the entire boarwalk area and Y & BC area to stoll and realx with the twins.

I'm thinking with my son we will go back to the hotel late in the afternoon to rest a bit. Most of my dinner reservations are in EPCOT or at one of the hotels in the area. So after we rest we can simply stroll to dinner and then spend some of the evening in EPCOT (I haven't planned a full EPCOT day for this reason). And when my son gets tired we can easily stoll back to the hotel. Beats waiting for buses with a tired child.

I've stayed at both monorail and EPCOT hotels and I like the EPCOT hotels better for convenience. Aside for a quick ride to the MK, the monorail hotels are not as convenient to other parks. You have to get out of monorail at TTC and switch to EPCOT monorail for EPCOT or take busses to AK & DH.

And to tell you the truth, of all the hotels near MK, my favorite is WL which is not on the monorail.

It may be nice to try something different, but then the first time with your twins, it may be better to stay where it's familiar.

Either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay and the resort.

Thank you all!

Wendybird55, that was a very insightful response = thanks!!

Thank you for starting this thread! I am also trying to decide between the BC and a monorail resort. We have three young children and will be spending most of our time at MK. I also know that we will be heading back to our resort each afternoon to rest and regroup. For those reasons I feel inclined to choose a monorail resort. However, the proximity to Epcot and the entertainment options of the boardwalk make the BC a pretty attractive option too. Anyway, thank you for putting the question out there. I'm hoping to hear additional input from others.
