Monorail refurb?

Just read about the Monorail having some refurb done until some time in December. We are going in August and staying at the Poly and planned on taking the monorail to MK and Epcot. Is this still going to be possible? How major is the refurb and will it affect the Monorail resorts from getting people to the parks?

You can't walk to the MK or EPCOT from the Poly. We were at BLT in late May/early June, and the monorail refurbishments did effect us. One day, we spent close to 4 hours trying to get to EPCOT and back.

The monorail wasn't running in the morning for EPCOT ropedrop. We of course did not know this, so we walked to the monorail station, only to be told to go and catch a bus to the TTC. We then had to catch another bus to EPCOT. We left before 8:00 to make 9:00 EPCOT rope drop. We actually got into the park around 9:30. By then, the wait times were over an hour for the headliners

It was even worse on the way home. We waited forever for a monorail, and then sat on the tracks multiple times for various reasons. We were trapped on the monorail - no other way home, so we just sat. Lots of unhappy people on that monorail.

OP, check with the front desk on the changes to the monorail schedule. We checked in middle of the week, so the paperwork we got at check-in only listed the monorail changes for part of our week. We did not think to go and get another one middle of the week to see the monorail changes for the last part of our vacation.

I was told when I made my ressie said for the CR for this Sept that there would be down time for the monorail. Said the resort would keep you inform etc.. At least we can walk to the MK.

This has been going on now for about a year now maybe more.

Wow. If there are these kind of problems with getting a monorail at rope drop they really need to be more up front about this stuff. If I wouldn't have been looking on places like the disboards I would have no clue and that is a hell of a thing to find out after you spent the amount of money you do for a monorail resort that does not give you monorail service.

I first saw it on Allears and on the Disney Blogs. It been going on now since about 2012 (on and off) I also been told if I have book an monorail resort. I think the whole system need to be replaced sooner than later than working on it on and off. My view only
