Does the monorail travel clockwise or counter-clockwise around its track?

Clockwise. You leave tomorrow land and go through CA, GCH and then stop at DTD. Then it goes back towards DL but if I am thinking correctly, when it passes over the entrance to DL it goes from left to right so it looks like it is going counter clockwise.

While we're talking monorail, hope no one minds if I hijack this post for a moment.

I am staying at the DLH starting 11/11, but I am wondering about the DTD monorail entrance. I read that it's on a later schedule lately, is that still true? I read that it sometimes doesn't start operating until 10:00. We usually use this as our entrance into the park while staying at the hotel and since we plan on being in the park much earlier than 10:00, I wonder if we'll need to walk down instead.

What has been everyone's experience lately with it?

Yes plan on walking. The odd hours are due to work in DCA and where it goes over the construction in its entrance street. This may take months.

To the OP:
Are you familiar with the DLR monorail? It isn't a simple loop like the lines in WDW that go around the Seven Seas Lagoon. I would take the wording in Hydroguy's answer and change it to, Mostly Clockwise. It winds around and the smaller loops are counter clockwise. The major loop is clockwise.

Yes, thanks. I saw a map of the route and noticed the path through Tomorrowland. But except for that part, I gather it travels mostly clockwise, which is to say it approaches the DTD station from the south.

I haven't been to DLR since 2005, and then it was just for the day doing both parks in one long 17-hour day. I've never ridden the DL monorail. Looking forward to my upcoming, ahem, business trip in a few weeks.

You can request to ride in the front with the CM driver. The CM will answer a lot of questions and you get a great view.
