Hello Everyone!
I haven't been on for a while but I am heading back to WDW for our son's 7th Birthday. I was thinking of purchasing the different monorail playset for him as gifts. The Magic Kingdom,Tree Of Life, ect. Does anyone know or remeber what the prices are on them?
Thanks A Bunch!!:goodvibes

I'm not exactly sure, but I remember the base monorail being about $65-$70.

The Monorail train sets themselves are still around, but there are very few of the "Monorail Accessories" (the play-sets you mentioned) still available.

We were just there at the end of September. We picked up the epcot ball, the contemporary resort and the tree of life. I believe the epcot ball and the contemporary were around $60 - $80 and could be found at most of the shops. We got ours at the contemporary resort gift shop but saw them at many of the other's also. The tree of life was around $30 - $40, we found it at the Once Upon a Toy store in downtown (I think we also saw it at one of the Animal Kingdom stores).

Thanks to everyone who responded!!
I guess I will purchase a $500.00 gift card for spending at the resorts for his birthday that should cover a few sets and of course his Disney racer cars. It's the only time he will want to go shopping with me (lol). That is a "magical" moment for me!:wizard:
Can't wait to go and I really hope this trip is extra magical for our son.

We were there in Sept. and the monorail was about $75.00. Plan on shipping costs to get it back home, also because it is too large to take in suitcase on airplane. We couldn't locate too many of the accessories to go with either but I still haven't totally given up as my grandson loves the Monorail.

We saw a set in Disney- some store right on Main St. They were supposed to get more in before we left but none. I called the # on my receipt from another purchase & I believe it was $70. I can't wait to put it under our tree. My kids want to open it but I know pieces will get lost. They were on backorder but it arrived earlier than expected.

We bought the monorail set last trip but DS wants a few more colors next trip. It cost approx $70, we removed it from the box to fit in the suitcase and it took up little room. I did not see many accessories last trip only the tree of life.

Yes, the Monorail Accessories (and there used to be MANY) are getting in very short supply.

How do I know?...
I have collected a few over the years for use at home at Christmastime.

Fun! I want to play at your house, Robo! :yay: :yay:

My 9 y.o. ds thinks that he sees Splash Mountain in the back left corner. Is that what it is? Also, what building is that beside the Polynesian & Grand Floridian? Very impressive collection.

Yes!
I am honored & happy that your DS knew that was Splash Mountain!!

I built that. (Since there is no "real" Splash Mtn. accessory.)
It has water cascading down the "big drop" and logs that float around the lower water channel.

I also built a stylized version of Fantasmic! that has water and lighting effects.
Mickey "commands" (spins) from atop the mountain.

If you mean the brown-colored structure between the Poly and Grand Floridian models, that is the Poly's monorail station (it is included as part of the Poly set.)

Hey Robo,
Love your setup. That must be alot of work to setup and packup only for Christmas. I'd be tempted to have out all the time. But then again I'm the crazy person who tells her Mum's BoyF to leave the Christmas lights up all year round as he's just creating work.:lmao: but will he listen.:confused3

I was there last weekend, and the Fantasia shop at CR had the trains, spaceship earth, the tree of life, and extra track. I'm wondering if they are bringing these back slowly, because in almost 3 years of searching this was the first time I had seen spaceship earth.

Robo, I've always been a fan of your set up, but I had no idea you made the splash mountain and fantasmic thing. That is so awesome.

Robo:
Love your setup. We have all the original accessories for WDW and DCA except the Cinderella Castle, King Triton's Carousel and the Sun Wheel. We do have Sleeping Beauty's Castle. We haven't had a chance to set everything up yet. We also were able to get the older Sears 1988 Main Street set with all the different accessories and figures.

My DH & I have gone back and forth between keeping them or selling them. We know that if we were to sell them now, we might get a good price for them, but might not as the boxes got some water damage when our storage unit was damaged. (Had the door pulled off the tracks and the roof torn off when a freak tornado hit the area).

DH can't wait to be able to set it up.

This is what everything originally cost when we started buying them in 97:
Monorail, Tree of Life, Test Track, Space Mountain, WDW Railroad, Cinderella Castle, California Screamin' - $60 each; Monorail Switch Station - $45; Sorcerer's Hat, Main Street Station - $40 each; Grand Floridian Resort, Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort, Spaceship Earth - $35 each; 5 Resort Sign Accessory Set, Tree Accessory Set - $30; Haunted Mansion - $25; Mad Tea Party, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Astro Orbiter, Orange Stinger, Goldern Zepher, King Triton's Carousel, Sun Wheel - $22 each; Extra Monorail Track Curved, Extra Monorail Track Straight - $10 each; Monorail Connectors - $6. Can't remember what the Wilderness Lodge Lincoln Logs, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Extra Train Track Curved and Extra Train Track Straight cost.

We will probably have to get some more connectors if they have them while we are there in December.

Afaik the connectors are long gone but may be brought back. I am working on a project to build new connectors but do not have a good close-up photo of one. If anyone has some good photos maybe you can be the first to help test the new connectors! :)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is about the coolest thing I have ever seen!

LOVE the Fantasmic set up! And Splash! I can't believe you made those!
VERY, VERY impressive and so creative!!! Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

Those very cool "fireworks" you used for Fantasmic would look great with
Cindy's castle too.

Hey Buddy,
Connectors haven't been sold in years, I have a couple and will shoot you pics if you need them. I'd love to be your Guinea Pig!

Have Delivears ship it for you. They base it on $5 per $50 spet if I remember correctly, so a Mono would cost only $10 to ship.
I have the numbers for both DFL and DCA if you need them.

Maybe if lots of people call and ask while at WDW they will bring back more monorail accessories back.
