How late do the monorails run?

Do the monorails that run between the resorts CR, GF, Poly run later than the monorail that goes to the parks?

If Epcot closes later than the MK can you still travel by monorail back to one of the monorail resorts.

We will be staying at BLT for Thansgiving and the week following and had hoped to be able to use the monorail service and not have to wait on busses>

TIA

What about when the MK or Epcot have extended hours? Or open late for MVMCP? Does the monorail stop running 1 hour after regular hours or the later hours?

So, if we were staying at BLT and had a late dinner at the Poly or GF, we would not be able to get to and from the resturant on the monorail if the KM had closed more than 1hour before our dinner?

If Epcot was open later than MK, we would not be able to use the monorail to return to our resort?

Can't "resort hop" to see the Christmas decorations in the evening?

This is hard to believe---monorail resorts with no monorail. How do you get from one resort to another if you do not have a car? Do I not understand something correctly?

Anyone heard why they changed the monorail hours? That just doesn't make much sense to me...

Generally, answer given by WDW was that the trains are old, breaking down more, and need more time for maintenance and down time. There's more nuance than that -- but that's the nutshell version.

There's a zillion threads on it if you'd like to read the long discussions! Many other theories on the motive (cost cutting, etc.)

They're not just "monorail resorts." All monorail resorts also have boats to get to MK and to each other. There is a MK/GF/Poly boat, a MK/WL/FW boat and a WL/CR/FW boat. You can use these boats to get from one resort to another, possibly have to transfer at MK to another boat if the destination resort is not in the same boat route as the origin resort. Some resorts are also walk-able from one to the other, such as Poly to GF or WL to FW.

The boats to MK from these resorts all run until 1 hour after park closing.

Well the only Monorail Resort that doesn't have a boat to the Magic Kingdom is the Contemporary.

Also the Contemporary/Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness boat operates from 6:45 AM - 11:30 PM seven days a week, no matter what time the Magic Kingdom will open and close at.

The Contemporary is easily walkable from the Magic Kingdom. It would probably take longer to load, move, and unload a boat than it takes to walk between the two locations.
