Monorail Drink-A-Thon

Ooo, Robin...have a drink for me! :thumbsup2

marquette-You are going to have a blast, I am sure!

aidensmom-Honestly, I do not drink too many specialty drinks...I like my usual 3...either dirty martin, vodka and soda with lime, or chardonnay. I will say while sitting at the pool at WL and BWV, I noticed the same little drink menu...not even a meanu, but like, you know when you go to a Chili's or Applebee's...how they have an ad for the drinks, with some pictures and descriptions? well, they were like that, looked very generic, and the same ones were at both BWV and WL...probably at all the resorts. I don't like that!

Lynn-I know we are going to do a Sept trip...AND we want to go when we can go for PftS...sooo, we just MAY be there end of Sept/beginning of Oct!

Sounds good.
I hope I can get my son and sister with me this time!!

It's been too long since anyone posted!! I miss hearing about everyone's drinking experiences!!

I will be visiting on a solo trip in mid-May. My plan is to eat at all restaurants I've never experienced before - does anyone know if any of the following restaurants have wine pairings? Jiko, Artist Point, Flying Fish

I'm also interested in any reviews of beverages at Port Orleans. I am trying that resort for the first time. :wave2:

Hi Disneyholic! I am glad you revived the thread. Your plan for your may solo trip are great. I am not sure about wine pairing,s although I remember wine flights at AP, and they are probably at Jiko and FF also. Can't wait to hear some reviews.

Lynne-hopefully we can make some sort of a gathering happen in that time frame!

Been a while since I posted to this thread - but it definitely is one that should stay alive. When grabbing a drink at Port Orleans, I recommend one at the pool bar at Riverside - I just dig throwin a few back at that place.

Hey guys, we have a couple from Wyoming interested in joining us for M-D-A-T3.
(How many states have we got covered so far?):confused3

I wish there were a Drink-a-Thon going on while I am visiting May 13-16... I live all the way in Seattle, and never seem to be able to join you all on the big organized ones!!

DH23-Too bad! We will just miss you! We will be there May 3-6!:sad1:

ffugitive-Ohhh, I LOVED drinking at that pool bar! You are right, it has a great ambiance there!

I know it's been forever and ever since I posted last. Life just gets in the way.

I know it's been a while since this was posted, but I spent some time at Classic Concoctions at PC in October. Had a great bartender and he told me they were doing a standardized menu for all of the bars, lounges, etc., for the Year of a Million Dreams. :sad2: Most places still have their unique signature drinks, but you have to ask for them.

Had a great time in October but I really missed meeting up with everyone!! Not sure I'll make is this year either. I'm doing the Pirate event in May and possibly a repo cruise in '08 so other trips will be slim to nill. :sad1:

In December, my cousin and I did a fireworks cruise on 7 Seas Lagoon. We left from WL and made a stop at the Territory Lounge first. After about an hour, we each got Hot Cocoa with Baileys & Amaretto to go. It was SOOO cold that night. While we were waiting to board, we made an excuse to run back to the "bathroom" and grabbed another "to-go" drink. Did I mention it was cold?!?!

Anyway, I'll be heading to WDW on Thursday for a week and I am determined to get a fiesta margarita this time. Each time I've gone, I've never hit Mexico at the right time or temperature.

Cheers!

Jennifer

HEY JEN

I guess we will see you in the AC again this weekend.

You'll be doing fine if Hathaway Browne doesn't sit on your camera.

We'll be at WDW next weekend too. Jen, maybe I will see you in the margarita line. ;)

Catherine - too funny. After I posted this, I didn't check in again until today. It's too bad I won't see you at the AC in March. :( I won't be going back until late May. Darn Western Repo. Not sure I'm going to make it to DL before the cruise those. WDW keeps calling my name.

Beth - sorry I missed you!! AND the margarita line!!! I never made it over to that side of WS. December is looking less and less unlikely so I *might* be able to make it for the 3rd Annual LOTW Monorail Meet in October. Woo Hoo!!

No, but you'll see me and Amy both there in May (if you want to admit you know me) unless I change for the Star Wars weekend. I don't know if I will. I know a lot of folks going on the May weekend so I may just suck it up and skip Star Wars if they don't do it in May. I don't know that we'll see anything funnier than the dog-butler and Pirate Dog Man though.

I want to make it to the third meet in October but I may be going down over the weekends of October 5 (that is the first weekend in October but also Columbus Day weekend), October 12 and another arrival on Halloween, so I really doubt that I will get to go on the last weekend in September.

Wow, guess what, I'll be there that weekend in May too! :rotfl:

start off at Ohana bar (not sure about contemp and gf, tho if you can make it over to cali grill, they have some good stuff there)...have a few pina coladas, mai tais and whatever else you like.

Gotta get a backscratcher @ the POLY...It'll knock ya on your BUTT!
