can anyone please give me any info on reserving a spot on "the blue bench" which allows you and your kids to sit up front with the engineer of the monorail? thanks

Never herad of the blue Bench but if you ask the CM at the front of the line and there is no one in the front he will gladly put you there. Try riding off peak times you will have the best chance of no one being there at the resort stops, or just be the first to ask on the EPCOT line no round trips...... :thumbsup2

It's really pretty simple. When you get to the queue for the monorail and the stall for the captain's space is open get in it, if not, go to the cast member and tell them that you would like to sit with the captain. He or she will put you in the stall behind the people already there, but you'll have to wait for the next monorail.

Please be advised: Only 4 people are allowed to sit with the captain.

It's first come first served.

You will be allowed to wait for the next train if needed.

Even if there isn't a family in the queue for the front your better off asking the CM if you can ride in the front. They like to have control because sometimes the driver is training or just not taking passengers. I have seen a family waiting in the queue without asking when another family asked to ride in front. The family that asked was escorted into the front not the ones waiting - they opted to wait for the next monorial with the CM's consent. The family that asked felt really bad because they didn't realize another family was already waiting but evidently neither did the CM.

We always wait for an off peak time, ask politely and offer to wait if necessary. Also on the resort monorials guests of that resort get preference at that resorts boarding station.

My favorite loop is the one from TTC to Epcot - IMHO worth waiting for!
