How do people take their euros with them? Cash, prepaid card or using a debit card? I want to avoid the last option, because of the charges. I'm also concerned about carrying cash. Do places in DLP accept preloaded 'traveler cards' ? this is what Thomas cook have suggested, but I'm not sure!

I am taking a prepaid card on Friday - post office have assured me it will be accepted

Are you staying in a Disney hotel ?
Their hotel charge card thing works well, you use it around the resort, shops and restaurants and they charge your card once at the end of your stay.
I have used it when I've taken the children on my own rather than carrying a lot of cash around in one go. If both me and OH are going we usually take euros and a credit card just in case. :)

I always stay at an on-site Disney Hotel and use their charge card system, that way everything I purchase in the parks is charged to my room bill. I then just take a small amount of Euros with me for the small things like snacks and counter service lunches.

I then only then have to pay one transaction charge on my debit card then. If your looking at taking a pre-paid card with you check the fees first some charge you for not using them, some chareg a per month fee and with some others its very difficult to get money back you have loaded on them you have not spent.

I didn't knew they'd charge extra costs for using a credit card?

I've been taking my VISA to Disneyland for 3 years now, I barely have cash on me when I'm there, no extra charges.

My bank doesn't charge me fees for charging to my card overseas, but they do charge me for withdrawing cash from cash machines overseas. I know one of my friends specifically applied for a bank account that would give her a card that could be used overseas without paying any fees - not sure how often you go overseas but if you do go often this might be worth considering.

I change spending money (food, souvenirs, etc) into Euros (using the travel money comparison places to find out where's the best place to change!), and pay for hotels by card - and also keep my card with me in case I run out of Euros!

Some UK banks charge you when you use your debit or credit card abroad for the conversion from pounds to euros.

I've looked into using a using a pre-paid currency card before and worked out their fees are just not worth it, plus your money is not protected if the company goes bust. I'd rather just pay the bank fess and know my money is safe.

Oh yeah, forgot about the Pounds / Euro's.
Since I use Euro's myself, I didn't think of that.

(edit)
Come to think of it ... when I was in London last May, I used my credit card, my bank didn't charge me anything extra.
Used it at The Lion King musical theater, McDonalds, top-up my Oyster card.

I'll go and speak to my bank before I go. I'd feel safer not carrying lots of cash. I might take €100 cash though. Guess I've got a while to sort it out!
