2 adults 1 child....we are staying at a value....9 day park hopper tickets...and taking a train (650.00 ) i have planned out for 6500 for tickets food souvieners hotel and train....does that seem like a reasonable budget???

With that budget, IMO you'll be able to paaaaarty! My budget for four (2 adults, 2 children) was way less than that. I'm thinking you'll have a fantastic time with almost no worries about spending too much unless you go hog wild.

I think that is PLENTY!!! LOL, we have free dining so we are a bit off but for:

2 adults
1 child
At value resort
8 day park hopper
airfare

we are at about $3200.

You should be fine!

You must not have free dining and maybe you upgraded to deluxe dining? That seems like an awful lot. We have two adults, two kids (one of whom is a Disney adult and the other is over 2 so not free), six nights at Pop, free dining upgraded to the basic dining plan, 6 day MYW tickets (non-hoppers, no water park option) and our total is just under $2000. We are driving so we have no transportation costs other than gas (estimated to be about $175 roundtrip for us using the AAA fuel cost calculator) and we will be paying tips for 6 TS dinners and for mousekeeping. We are figuring $100 for our teenage daughter's parasailing appointment, $60 for BBB for the 4 year old and around $100 for pick a pearl with jewelry settings if both of our daughters want to do it. We are bringing our own fridge for our own bottled water, juice, and diet soda (no mugs). Throw in maybe another $100-150 for junk and incidentals for the kids (hoodie for oldest and who-knows-what for the youngest) and we are done.

Is $6500 a typo or is that your serious number?

We (2 adults) stayed at a moderate and flew from Maine a couple years ago (7 nights) and spent WAY less than $2000 including food and souvenirs.

So, your question - does it seem like a reasonable budget? I'd say NO only because I feel you are WAY OVER budgeted - I think you could get by with a few thousand less.

But - if you stick with 6500 you will have a HECK of a vacation!!! :)

Wow! That is a lot of $$. We went in August 2 adults, DD14, DS10, stayed at POFQ with free dining and 9 day hoppers for about $2700.00. We drove down and spent about $250 on gas then, our out of pocket including tips while we were there was $344. Of course, we don't go nuts buying souveniers and all but still got a few things. $6500 should be PLENTY!! Have fun!!:)

Honestly with that budget you could probably almost take 3 trips! Have a blast.

650.00 for train....

Look at your ticket costs again.

What are you paying per ticket?

How old is your child?

When are you going? Have you checked out free dining?
And - if you are going to Seaworld - you can cut your ticket needs down quite a bit.

$6500 would give many of us 2 full trips with dining, hotel trans and tickets and souvenirs. Especially if you are staying value.

One way would be to buy annual passes - take 2 trips in a year.

Is this through a travel agent?

Are you not able to fly? Disney offers a free transfer option from the airport. Are you getting a rental car?

when i got to the website on disney....a room at all star music and a 10 day ticket with park option for 2 adults and 1 child ( 9 ) thats whats the amount was....2445.000
im not flying because husband is terrified too...and no we are not renting a car while we are there...we will be taking a cab to sea world and to fun spot on international driver one day when we are though..so that will cost us some money....i budgeted around 1500 for food maybe thats not reasonable would it be less???? we are not doing free dining...
how do i cut costs on sea world tickets???

when are you going? it's possible there will be a free dining or room discount.

food budget depends on whether you are eating table service or counter service mostly. Counter service for 4 would cost somewhere between $30-50 per meal...we, however, always share a meal and both of us have plenty to eat.
You can order groceries from gardengrocer.com-snacks, cereal and save money by eatin in the room some.

Souvenirs used to be big-ticket for us...on the first trip, we gave DD XX# of $$...and when she spent that it was gone. We did advise her to look around before buying and she di dmost of her shopping the last 2 days we were there.

I noticed you have a train budget of about $650.00. You will be paying for transportation to and from the station and taxis around Orlando. I understand you're probably taking it from Mass. to Fla. But with what you may be spending on other travel expenses you should look into the Amtrak Auto Train. You would have to drive to Virginia, but you would have you're own vehicle and you can pack the car with as much as you feel you would need to bring.
It may cost a little more but you would have you're own mode of transportation so you wouldn't be relying on taxis and set to possible time restraints.
Just my 2 cents worth. Hope you enjoy your trip.
