Do you feel overwelmed by the costs of weddings!!!! i do ! I feel so stressed out over the costs. But it won't keep me from my Disney Honeymoon!

Yes! Not only can I not afford a house in my city, I can't afford a wedding here! Disney is a relative bargain...

Yeah I was stressing so much when I was planning on having my wedding home in Jersey for 125 people it was going to cost like 35000-40000. So this is why I am having our wedding in Disney World to save a lot of money

Yes, I do stress about it. We have been together for 11 years, he adopted my daughter last year. I just keep thinking that it is silly to spend thousands on a disney wedding. But, I know I will do it, it is a once in a lifetime event, and I want it to be personal, intimate, and I want it in disney!

Absolutely!!

Everybody keeps telling me that I should just have a wedding at a firehouse and use the extra money that I would spend on Disney towards a house - but I don't care. I only plan on getting married once and I want the wedding that I've always dreamed of. Even if it means getting a part-time job to help pay for it!

It's a lot of money, but if it's what makes you happy, then it's definetly worth it. You only get married once, right? (Well, we all HOPE only once lol)

Weddings nowadays are so expensive anyhow that narrowing down your guest list by having a destination wedding sounds like a pretty intelligent idea...

Weddings are SO expensive! We had a strict budget for the wedding and honeymoon - which I came in under :cool1: - we had just bought a house and that was a bigger priority for us. I think it depends on each couple's priorities. We had an Intimate and it was the most perfect wedding I could have imagined :cloud9: My BFF is getting married this year and I know they're looking at about $20-25k. For me, I just could never justify that much money for one day, but it is a personal decision and I think every bride should have her dream wedding day whatever that is!!

I completely understand! If my Dh and I got married in NJ it would have costs around 50,000. That is one of the main reasons we had a Disney wedding, to cut down on costs! I know that sounds mean but it is true. Were were thinking about having a dinner when we got home to celebrate with our family that was not able to make it. My brother got married in Disney 3 years ago, and they had a intimate wedding which was beautiful! Their wedding came to $3000, but that is without a reception. But that did include her hair, make up, flowers, rental site, pastor, violinest ? (spelling) photographer, champaige, and the cake. Then for the reception we reserved Victoria & Alberts. When ever I talk to people about my Disney wedding, they are always amazed that we did that followed by, "that must have been so expensive"! I always respond with they will taylor to anyones needs, you can make it as inexpensive or expensive as you want! Whatever fits your budget! And it will still be beautiful and magicial! Hope this helps.

Weddings can be crazy expensive! I considered our Disney wedding a bargain, and it was more our style anyways, with less stress and planning. We would've spent waaay more having a traditional wedding at home and wouldn't have been as happy.

I am not letting myself get overwhelmed because this is something I REALLY want. I always want to say "you only have one wedding" but I guess that isn't true so I say "you can only have one first wedding".

I am going to enjoy it all the way.

I stress about it every day. ;) DF tries to reassure me that everything will be fine, but I still worry about the cost of everything. You're not alone.

Oh me to:thumbsup2 I'm terrified our wedding is going to be overbudget with exchange rates, taxes and gratuities! I'm always freaking out and will probably continue to do so until we receive our BEO.

Money is absolutely a worry! I am getting nervous that we are going over budget and there is still a year to go!

Well we are definately over budget, but it is a once in a lifetime dream, and I am having everything I could possibly dream of.

DF and I always discuss this! We are doing an NJ wedding and it is costing about $40,000 if we stay in budget (which is quite possible but not likely knowing me :rolleyes1 ). A DFTW might be less expensive but we have so many family members that we want there and it would be impossible for them to come. I think that generally, a wedding is a waste of money but that it really is worth it. Its a waist in the sense that you don't come away with anything (i.e. a car/house), but like I said, its worth it for us! I am so excited for my wedding and I know that I will love the results of every penny I spend!

One thing that definitely helped me was keeping a (ridiculously!) detailed tally of all the money we were spending. That way, when we got our BOE or even our credit card bill right before the wedding (with all the deposits, etc.), we weren't shell-shocked. When I noticed we were close to hitting our budget, I scaled back some of the things we wanted to do.

Like others have said, Disney worked out best for us because we could have a tiny, tiny family-only wedding (13 guests, the two of us, and our officiant, also a friend, for a total of only 16!) without feeling bad that we weren't inviting ALL of our friends.
