Money saving tips???

Is this offered on 4 night cruises or only 7 night? We don't drink, but I'm all up for free food!

We were on the 7 night, not sure about the 4 night...
We did the galley tour on our 7 night too, but again not sure baout the 4 night.

Maybe check the 4 night navigators?

I've been scouring the 3-night Navigators and I can't find the galley tour - possibly because they only do it on sea days? Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough. :confused3

We are so excited to board our cruise!! Dh and I have done 2 RC cruises but this is our first Disney cruise and it will be the first time our kids have been on a cruise. You guys are full of great tips!! I have loved reading all of them! One question...on RC they offer a "soda card" for a few dollars a day. We were able get sodas whenever and wherever we wanted all we had to do was show our card. Does DCL do this? Thanks!pirate:

There is actually a soda station on deck 9 - you can fill up anytime, as often as you want.

I love it! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

You know, I did want to add something to this thread. I have gotten so many great ideas! But now I want to know.....what's the coolest thing you did on the ship that was free? IE Galley Tour, presentations, etc.

This was not on the ship, but the coolest free thing for me was scoring a quiet hammock under a shady palm tree on Castaway Cay with no one else around but my own family. I had kids with me, so I didn't go to Serenity Bay, but I got the tip to walk all the way around the family beach (with the provided FREE baby jogger!) to the very end by the bar. There are two hammocks there and no one around for a very good distance except my favorite people to see in this instance...bartenders! They regularly trooped by with everyone else's drink orders. This is the only place I indulged in paying the Disney price for alcohol and it was worth every sip! Swinging in the shade with a sleeping child and a fruity drink was the perfect end to the trip.

Not free on the ship but consider booking or transfering your ressie to a Disney TA. Shipboard credits can range from $50-$600 depending on the agency, number of people sailing and the stateroom you are in to help offset those "extras"

What? There are no hammocks there! You must have been imagining themt. ;) Oh well, I guess it's outta the bag now... Those are the best hammocks on Castaway Cay - very secluded and near the bar. :thumbsup2 But I doubt they'll be there in September - some kind of refurbishment thingy! :rolleyes1

I know I'm going to get killed by this.... and I think at certain age it is okay.... but do we really need to teach our six year olds about high prices and sales tax. Can't we just tell them no every once in a while and keep their innocence just a tad longer?

I'm as frugal as they come, but I could never see doing that.

Just saying no is ok... besides... fractions and percentages don't come in until at least 3rd or 4th grade, now do they??? Although...you know, I swear they start teaching calculus in pre school...

Of course, I'm 42 and still don't know the word no!!!

I still give my mom the guilt that she didn't get me the mickey baloon (the old ones where the mickey baloon was inside a clear one...) (ok, back in the 70's ok...) because it was "too expensive!!!" :rolleyes1

Another way to look at this is that if our kids knew how much things cost (and what it takes to get the money to buy these things), they wouldn't ask for so much stuff.

In the meantime, though, we say "no" plenty of times. They score so much stuff during the holidays that we ration it out during the year. :thumbsup2

I barely even understand sales tax - it's different in every county and I shop in about three of them.....so I never know how much something is REALLY going to cost. :confused3
