I have one - just one - share in Disney, just for the hell of it.

I just got a letter with a cheque for seventeen cents! Woo-hoo!

It also states that during the 2004 fiscal year, Disney:

• Grew earnings per share by over 60%
• Delivered a record cash flow from operations
• Saw a share price increase of 11.8%

Dividends are now at just over 14%.

Everything looks good :) Thank oo Mr. Eisner, now I'm off to buy 8 penny sweets :teeth:

Was there an explanation of why you only received $ 0.17. The declared dividend was actually $ 0.24 per share. You might ask them what happened to your other $ 0.07!

When I left the Disney Store, I sold all but one of my shares and had that one issued to me so I could have the pretty certificate in my house! All that to say, I did get the .24 that cheshire figment spoke of, I was wondering why yours is only 17 cents too?

probably due to the exchange rate. i think rich is from "across the pond"

Yep, the taxman took the other 7 cents. I also have one Disney share. To be honest, I'd prefer that they didn't send the cheque out to me but sent it to a charity.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Andy

If it was the exchange rate, wouldn't he actually get more since the dollar is so low? All this talk of pennies is funny. :)

You really should call Disney and book a trip - when they ask for a credit card number for a deposit, you can say "I'd really rather use my Disney shareholder earnings as my deposit, put me down for 17 cents". I can just imagine what the person on the other end of the phone would be thinking. :earboy2:

ok, I got my 24 cents too, but I'm more interested in the proxy materials. I have been paying attention to the Eisner pro/con debates, but I know nothing about the other board members and if I should vote yes or no. Does anyone know if there is a thread out there concerning people's thoughts on this? Thanks

I believe the OP is from UK. Could be an exchange rate thing?

I lost seven cents?!

That confounds things! The dollar is low so I get less anyway (8 pence) which is - gasp - only 8 penny sweets! Aaarrrggghh!

Rant over. It would be nice to have them pay it into some form of charity - I only have the share because the Disney share certificates are so darn cool! The nice coloured report book is just a bonus :)

they usaly pay the dividend in 2 insalments a small one half way throught the acounting year interum and and a final one at the end of the accounting period this is to give you some money and also encuage you to hold onto them so if you add up the 2 payments they will add up to the full dividend
