My daughter (20 months) goes to school with me (I am a teacher) and goes to an onsite daycare at the school. We pay 90 dollars a week for care, and there is no daycare in the summer.
Well, her teacher had talked about having a parent's day out this summer but nothing was set in stone.
She called this evening and said that she was watching a few other kids tomorrow and she thought maybe we would need a break. Well, we had a pipe break this weekend and will have plumbers coming out all day tomorrow so I am sure my baby would have a better time over there playing with other kids.
My problem is I don't know how much I should pay. Her teacher and I are friends, and I have watched her daughter before just as a friend. I have a feeling if I ask her how much I owe her she will say nothing---but I want to pay her for her services, as this might turn into a weekly/biweekly thing.
Anyone know how much (per hour) is appropriate for this kind of thing?
