Anyone flown with them as they are coming out cheaper than Virgin even with my miles plus money.

Obviously they go to Sanford and I have never flown there so don't now what car hire is like from there but is £200 plus worth it in saving?

Any review on Monarch would be appreciated

be careful with Monarch...I looked into them as well BUT they charge for every single element of the flight...I think you even have to pay each way for your checked in luggage, which by the way is only 20kg per person. You have to pay for selecting your seats, meals etc. The seats are also smaller and you have less leg room then on VA and BA.. All in all it worked out not an awful lot cheaper to stay with Virgin and have the added convenience of landing in MCO instead of Sanford!!!!!

Also one of the threads the pp has has attached was from 2007 but if you google for opinions now they aren't an awful lot better. On the plus side people do tend to post negative reports so you don't always hear when they have been fab. The good reports tend tobe on the short haul flights not the long haul!!! Some of the reviews are so negative about the cabin crew but no matter what flight you go on they can be a ropey lot sometimes...the VA crew a couple of years ago were awful, not happy, not helpful etc and I bet first time flyers with VA have had second thoughts about going with them again!!

For us it just wasn't enough of a saving but if there are a lot of you then obviously it may be worth it.

Have you thought about going indirect instead..?

Were booked on Monarch for August, too be honest I dont have high expectations but maybt thats a good thing!

I'm booked with Monarch/Cosmos for October. I didn't have to pay for luggage or meals, they are included.

If I want to get seats I'll have to pay, but then I also had to with Thomas Cook last time.

I'm expecting monarch to be basic tbh, but we have our meals and seat back tv's so that's all I care about really lol

OH is 6'5 though so when we are able I think we'll be paying for extra leg room!

to be honest it was a while ago when we last looked at Monarch but it wasn't through a package deal so maybe thats why we told we had to pay for everything, or maybe its just changed for long haul. But I am of the opinion that if it saves you loads of money then its got tobe worth it:)
