June 3, 2005 (Friday)
Well, the boys did wake up earlier 9am only to find it was again raining.
We grabbed a quick bite of breakfast in the room, got ready and trekked on over to MGM via the fine WDW bus transportation. As soon as arrived, we got a birthday button for DS and it started to rain heavier. Well, good thing I read the DIS boards and packed ponchos
put on those dollar store beauties and off we went in search of Star Wars fun. We turned down Sunset Blvd. (Yeah, Mom had ulterior motives again
Beauty and the Beast! Since it was starting to rain harder and the next show was in 10 minutes, we popped in the theater. Wow! It is a fantastic production! I was even more sorry that we had never seen it before. DS even asked if we could come back to see the next show. Okay, it wasnt Belle that caught his eye, but the warm-up group, Four For a Dollar, that did. DS sings with the school choir and was amazed with the harmony and arrangements they did. DH (also a musician) and I were equally impressed
so much so that we did buy their CD while in the park.
After we left the theater we headed toward Sounds Dangerous where outside we saw Annakin, but kept on walking to the Tatooine gift shop. DS had spotted the shirt he wanted, one with SWW logo on the front and big Darth Mickey and such on the back all glow in the dark, but not his size. We stood outside Tatooine for about 15 minutes waiting our turn to get inside.
Once we did, I can now relate to sardines
squished in together
and getting a little stinky. Fortunately within about 15 minutes we found the rack with the shirt DS wanted as a CM was adding more. He asked the size we were looking for and handed the prized shirt over.
Then to another line to wait in just to pay. It was neat though how the CMs used the fancy light sabers as guides for other CMs to track the lines. After our shopping was done (35 minutes to buy one shirt.) we headed back into the rain. I would have thought that the rain, which was a good steady rain, would have reduced the size of the crowds, but it didnt.
It was about 1pm so attempted to get a walk-in at SciFi and were turned away. The CM told us we could get a PS/ADR for 8:30pm that night. We noticed this at many locations, so a word of advice, grab those PS/ADR when you can. It didnt matter to us, so we walked around the corner and went into the ABC Commissary for a snack.
It was our first time here and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. While we sat there leisurely eating, the rain picked up and more people started heading indoors. We stayed as long as possible then went to check on Lights! Motors! Action! We got there just in time to grab a fastpass for the 3:55pm show.
In the meantime we just walked around the park, checking out various shops and places we hadnt seen in a few years. I actually had fun sloshing through the 2 inch puddles in my CROCS
feet got wet and feet dried quickly.
At 3:15pm we walked back to Lights! Motors! Action! and stood in the fast passline, hoping the sky wouldnt open up and pour on us again. We were lucky! My advice, get the FP for this attraction as it guarantees you a seat. We ended up in the first row directly behind the tech booth great seats! We were covered by the rain which started, on the heavy side, right after we sat down.

The throng of people trying to get seated before Lights! Motors! Action!
We thought the show might get cancelled due to the bad rain, but a CM assured us lightning was about all that would cancel it. We played the Car trivia along with the rest of the audience as we waited for the show to start. Miraculously it stopped raining just as they started. Wow! There are some awesome drivers in that show!
And some secrets that I wont divulge here, that even surprised DS. Well, it was getting close to 4:15pm when the show ended and we had 5:40pm PS/ADR at Whispering Canyon Café in Wilderness Lodge so we headed straight for the bus stop.
We made it to WL with time to spare, so we took a gander at the place it is huge! And yeah, I could tell the similarities between WL and AKL, which were designed by the same person. We were seated right away at a table in the center of the room, just past the hostess stand. Our CM was Raging Bull, or at least that is what he told us and for the life of me I cant remember the name on his badge. Now, if youve never been to WCC as we had not, then you could be in for a treat or not depending upon how you look at it. I, having read my DIS board reports knew what we might be in for that evening and secretly hoped all of the stuff Id read would happen.
Ah, with pixie dust wishes do come true. Okay, we never needed any ketchup, but we sure saw lots of it getting passed around. DS did ask for a second drink and a third and yep! Each glass got bigger
with each refill
even the straw got longer. DS was having a blast! When DS had to make a trip to the bathroom, he heard about it upon his return. But the best part for us was how the CMs got DS, who is hard to get! Raging Bull brought him out a nice mini chocolate bundt cake, told DS not to touch it till they were all done sangin for him. Man, either there was so much noise that I couldnt tell what they were singing or they were intentionally being horrible.
Well, on the last
to you the 4 CMs scooped up DSs birthday cake and ate every bite of it.
The look on DSs face was priceless!
Naturally, they gave him another cake, which he protected with all his might. One of the Cms went to the kitchen and grabbed the biggest wooden spoon Ive seen, came back and asked DS, You sure you dont need any help with that? I brought my own spoon. DS was chucking so hard, he couldnt answer
he just protected the cake more. DS said we have to go back to WCC again. It is now one of our favorite places.
We finally finished at WCC around 7:30pm and decided to head to DD again. As we waited for the bus, I realized I was about to get a migraine
so I decided to head back to the room, while the boys stayed at DD. DS wasnt as interested in going to the Adventurers Club as DH was so he was a good son and said hed keep me company at the room. Fine and we left DH to go on his own. He loves the Adventurers Club being a theater person.
On his first visit there he was chosen to help with the Radio Broadcast and that was all it took for him to be hooked. DS and I hopped the bus, stopped at the HH, went into Conch Flats, grabbed a snack and an early Fathers Day gift for DH
he loves the chocolate covered rice crispy treats and DS saw one with Super Dad on it. He left it on the table for his breakfast the next morning. DS and I laid on those big comfy
beds, ate a bag of popcorn, he watched ESPN while I wrote the postcards for the great-nieces and nephews. DH rolled in sometime around 12:30am. We had decided to sleep in the next morning instead of heading to AK
figured it would rain anyway so why not.
