For our trip in April, I took 3 pairs of shoes and alternated which ones I wore.
It was almost always my sneakers/running type shoes in the morning for Rope Drop. Then I'd switch to either my Chucks or Cliff's sandals (like these http://www.famousfootwear.com/en-US...te+Mountain/Blue+Smooth/Womens+Carnation.aspx) for after our break.
We do most of our touring in the mornings, so I wanted my most sturdy comfortable shoes.
In the evenings, I'm never as concerned about walking as much, or getting anywhere quickly, so the other two kinds worked ok.
I will agree with the sketchers go walks... I also packed a pair of flip flops (inexpensive ) that I threw in our diaper/ all purpose bag in case of wet shoes or a sudden blister attack... I never really needed them.
