For instance today I did my nails "Glam Rock" style (for lack of a better description) and I am going to try a new hair color this weekend, just to freshen things up and so I feel a little "schmexier" and less run down looking. I guess like a mini makeover or something. What do you like to do just for you? Hit the gym? Read a book? Tell everyone your taking a shower and instead bring your laptop into the bathroom to obsess over Disney trip details:rolleyes1? Try a new hairstyle or outfit? Eat Ice cream:rotfl:?

I am a gym rat! I try to go 5 times a week, although this week I haven't been once. :lmao: Next week I am going to hit it hard! It just makes me feel so good.

I also addicted to highlights. I go every 6 weeks, but would go more if my hair guy would let me. I always think I look less tired after getting my highlights!

Love it!!!

pedicures. I'm too hard on my nails for manicures but pedicures feel so nice.

I also try & make an effort to dress presentable (IMO) every day. I feel I project a happier image when I look nice & put together.

Bubbblebaths with a good book....:goodvibes

Love getting pedis...may have to add the mani/pedi too!

*Very nice haircut (and when I tried a new salon and they messed up, I really felt like crap until I had the funds to go and fix it.)

*I attempt to have nice clothes even though I am a SAHM. I try not to feel frumpy. Now, my wardrobe isn't the greatest and it might make me a candidate for What not to wear, but I try try try to buy things that are flattering and when it dawns on me that a piece is terrible, I do try and ditch it as soon as I can. I've got some pretty frumpy turtlenecks right now. Thy were okay for FL and the occasional "winter" weather day. They are not okay for regular wear for the next 3 months. I hate them and will replace them with something more flattering when I can. (It doesn't help that they are actually leftovers from a pregancy. Not maternity wear, but too dang big!)

*I have made friends with Oil of Olay. ;)

*I usually wear make up. (I have uneven skin tones and I often look like I stayed up all night. I wasn't blessed with the best skin though it isn't to shabby.)

*Trying to get back to exercising but have a detour to PT. Couldn't do anything without causing a problem and now we have to fix what the baby did to me last year. Yay me! While I'm not the epitome of fitness, being able to do some exercising helps me feel good about me.

Can't think of anything else at the moment. There are other things I would do, but it just isn't on our menu of life right now. Mani/Pedicures and Facials would be tops on my list.

This is so true. I have been trying to make a real effort to feel more "put together" when I leave the house and not just wear sweatpants. It seems like for the last 4 years(DS is 4) I've been wearing baggy gym clothes everywhere, I just don't want to anymore. It takes just as much effort to put on a nicer outfit(even if its just a cute top with jeans) as it does to put on some raggedy clothes right? I feel like I carry myself better. I'm on a budget so I am trying to rebuild my wardrobe slowly(for some reason when I got pregnant I gave away almost all my clothes, thinking they would never fit again :confused3 it was not well thought out)I've found some fabulous finds thrifting and on clearance racks.

Keep them coming ladies! :woohoo:

I keep my hair highlighted and my gray covered:lmao: I also get pedicures and love to wear high heels. I always feel thinner and prettier in cool shoes:thumbsup2

I actually asked for frumpy pants as sometimes I don't want to make an effort. I have shorts from Florida--but realized, I didn't have anything cozy. So I've had to wear the same (few) pair of pants over and over again. And sometimes--cozy is needed for the day. I did ask for cute frumpy, so we'll see what shows up under the tree.

Probably try some sales in February...but pants shopping is the worst! I did get some lovely cold weather skirts though when I was thrifting.

At least once a week I get dressed up, high heels, smooky eye and go out with my DBF. It doesn't matter where we go. I put on nice clothes so I feel sexy. I LOVE high heels and I wear them even if we are going out for sushi.

Every day if I am going out, I make sure I have a really nice outfit on. I am never slumpy unless I am coming come home from the gym. I have some really great clothes that are just as comfortable as sweats but they make me well dressed. It makes me feel great.

Tanning; Hilights; nails and pedicures often, Lunch w a martini w my BFF every 2 weeks ;) Keeps me sane

I love that this thread just came up. I was just saying to DH yesterday that I feel so frumpy and that I feel like a "mom". When I'm around the house I'm in jeans and a long sleeve shirt but I always put makeup on in the morning. It's not a lot, but it makes me feel better to get the day going. I want to color my hair, but funds are low right now and can't afford to go to the salon. Don't know if I want to chance a box color. Not feeling very pretty or special right now. Hoping to perk up soon. It's amazing how much what you look like can change your mood.
