Hi
My 14 month old dd is still using bottles. We have tried to switch her to sippie cups but she loves her bottles. Anyhoo, we are staying at Asmu in Sept. They do not have a kitchen. Any ideas how to clean her bottles? We normally boil them for 5 minutes. I am totally clueless about this. It never entered my mind before last nite. Last year we stayed in a condo and had a kitchen. Help!

Could you use those bottles with the disposable liners? That wouldn't help with cleaning the nipples but at least you wouldn't have to figure out how to sterilize the bottles. I myself never did the boiling water thing with my second child. And it didn't last very long with my first either. I wash bottles in the dishwasher and it gets them plenty hot. We recently went to Pigeon Forge and my youngest was still on bottles (he is off now thank goodness and can use a straw - we are set for November with no sippy cups!!!). Anyway, I just washed the bottles in the kitchen sink. Last trip to WDW my son was using sippy cups and I had to wash them every night (I brought dish soap with us) in the bathroom sink.

I never did the boil in 5 minutes thing either. I didn't know people even did that anymore/:confused3 . Anyway, we didn't even have a dishwasher when my kids were babies (this was just 3 and 5 years ago, not the dark ages:lmao: ), and we always washed bottles in the kitchen sink with hot, soapy water. I'd just bring a little bottle of dish soap with, and wash the bottles in the bathroom sink.

Just take a little bottle of dish soap with you and wash them in the sink. A 14 month old doesn't need the bottles boiled.

We used to bring a little travel bottle of dish soap and a bottle brush and just wash them out in the sink. It worked fine for us!

Yup... ditto pp, just wash them and let them air dry. You dont need to boil them anymore. Boiling bottles is only necessary the first 5 months of your baby's life because of their immature immune system. After that, washing them normally is totally fine. Just make sure you wash them well and let them dry completely.

:O)
Have Fun!!!

I would also just wash them. I'd take a tupperware bowl to use as a sink (just pack stuff in it so it doesn't take up space) if you want to soak them and don't want to use the bathroom sink.

Do you have a microwave in your room? I can't remember if they did when we stayed there. If so, you can get these bags that steam the bottles in the microwave.

Or, you could always use the coffee pot to make hot water and then use that to clean them.

Just a thought.
