"Mommy, this time it's all of our first times." April 28-May 3 TR

hello there i just found your trip report and i subcribed i hope you all enjoyed your trip with your husband and daughter

I love the pictures in front of Everest! Flame Tree used to be really good but now I get less and less impressed with it every time we go. The ribs at Cosmic Rays made my dd sick last trip so I would like to avoid Flame Tree next trip, just to be on the safe side. Maybe we'll try Yak and Yeti. Looks like you had great weather.

I really liked Flame Tree, but I don't like any kind of meat on the bone :sad2: so I wouldn't even THINK about trying ribs.

I love the way Jilly is enjoying herself and dancing around! ;) We love Flametree BBQ but the birds will darn near take your food from you! Lol. I'm not a beer drinker but Jed's beer looks yummy! lol

Those birds were pretty crazy!!! :scared1:

Great pics Jen!!! Jilly's faces crack me up!!:rotfl: I love that she "wishes" to go back to Disney World. Gabe asks every day, and he and Helen "play" Disney World. I love that it leaves such a positive and magical impression on our kiddos!!! The tie-dye Mickey shirts are awesome too!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Jilly asked me last night when we were going back...it's so hard to resist...

awww Jilly is just sooo adorable! I'm glad she's wishing to go back to WDW! Who wouldn't?! LOL. I'm just loving those pictures of Jilly and Jed! And that picture of her dancing to the Village Beatniks?! Awesome!! Can't wait for more!

Thanks, Keala! It really was an amazing trip!

what a fun filled day so far! I look forward to traveling just the three of us...you guys look so relaxed and just enjoying one another as you go. Ashton was afraid of the bugs last year but he did great this year (I think he knew what to expect this year--although he did sit on my lap-so no stinging or exiting bugs for him either)...
Jilly looks so excited about everything! it really makes the magic even more magical!
I really hope you guys are able to go back this year!
:wave2: Connie

I know what you mean, Connie! As much as I would like to share the magic with other family members, it's so much easier to plan for just the three of us! We went to Myrtle Beach last year with my mom, stepdad, sister & sister's boyfriend, and it was not the best vacation ever...:sad2:

Aw.. I love the pics of Jilly dancing to the band. We always make sure to stop and enjoy things like that. So many people just keep walking past and don't even give them the time of the day.

There were a few things we had to bypass in order to make certain showtimes or whatever, but little unplanned moments like this were definitely magical! :wizard:

Jilyy's definitely feeling the rythmn! love how she's just dancing and enjoying every aspect of the parks, and i'm sure you's had just as much fun watching her! :yay: your flame tree barbecue lunch looks really good, i'm torn between there and pizzafari!

i'm gonna show DBF a picture of Jed's ribs and bud, then the decision might be out of my hands!:lmao:

She really does love to dance!!! And sing!! :yay: I also had to choose between Pizzafari and Flame Tree. Jed's food was just okay, but I really loved my salad, and the seating area was really nice!

Thanks for subbing! We had a great trip, and I hope you enjoy reading about it! :cool1:

I'm back from my trip and all caught up again. It looks like your Animal Kingdom day is going great. I love the pictures of Jilly with Minnie Mouse and the ones in front of Everest.

Just found your trip report. Jilly is too funny, being a belly dancer in Epcot, feeding benches in Animal Kingdom. Whats next? lol

Welcome back! I hope the depression hasn't set in yet! :sad1: Thanks for the compliments! We really loved the Animal Kingdom!

Thanks for reading along! More updates coming up next! :)

Next we headed over to Dinoland where Jilly played for a while in the dig site playground.

She was having a blast, and I was amazed when she climbed up the net ladder and went down the huge twisty slide…several times!

I felt bad when I had to make her leave, but I really wanted to catch the next showtime for Nemo. It was getting ready to start when we parked our stroller, so we made a mad dash to the entrance and were seated just minutes before it began! We all really liked this show, but I still miss the Tarzan Rocks show that it replaced…

Next we grabbed a frozen lemonade and found a spot to watch the Jammin’ Jungle Parade. I think Jilly was more interested in her frozen lemonade, but Jed and I both think the floats and costumes are so amazing!

My favorite baboon!

Our original plan was to leave the park after the parade was over, and Jilly was more than willing, but I decided to ask her if she would like to go to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and pet some animals. I guess she wasn’t too tired because she immediately shouted, “Yeah!”

We made a quick stop at the restrooms, and when Jilly and I came out, Jed showed us a little discovery he had made…

I have to get Jilly ready for her dress rehearsal, so that's all for now!

Great parade pics Jen!

My nephew really enjoyed the Boneyard too! Just give a kid something to climb on and a slide and they're as happy as can be. Who needs all that extra stuff Disney has to offer? :goodvibes

hey jen! Great update as always! Great pics of Jilly playing at the Dig site. especially that one of her coming down the slide....too cute! and I have to agree, the parade is amazing isn't it? so colorful and sooo creative! Can't wait to see more pics!

Another great update!

Jilly looks like she had a blast at the boneyard. I thought that area was a lot of fun and a great place for kids to blow of some steam. Caitlin had a blast running around there too.

The parade looks like fun. We never made it to any of the parades.:confused3
I was always outvoted. We almost made it to the 3pm parade at MK but Caitlin wanted to get the fairies to sign her autograph. She isn't even a big Tinkerbelle watcher.

Anywho-- your day looks like fun and frozen lemonade is perfect on those hot AK days.

I loved seeing your pics of the dig site! We didn't go there last year since we were just two adults, but we can't wait to check it out with my nephew! I am sure we will have to pry him away to go see Nemo as well! =)

I remember back in the day when our son was young and would love playing in the playground at Dinoland. He never wanted to come out of there.

I agree with you about missing Tarzan Rocks. I liked it much better than the new Nemo show.

You must have had a great seat for the parade becase you got some great pictures. We've never taken the time to see the parade at the Animal Kingdom. But, every time I see pictures such as your's, I say "next trip".

Sounds like a fun day at AK! I'm glad my days of the boneyard are over. It was always a recipe for disaster for us.:sad2:
I haven't seen the AK parade in about 5 years. Need to see it next trip for sure.

Great update Jen!!! The Boneyard looks like so much fun!! I am so bummed we didn't get time to play there!! Great parade pics too, it's one of my favorite parades, I love all the animals and the music!!! Jilly is cute as always!!!!!!!:goodvibes

just caught up on your tr! great pics!! (what kind of camera do you have?!?!)

i have a DD who will be 4 when we go to WDW next year... i really hope shes tall enough to ride the 40" rides!! cant wait to read more!

Nice AK update! We avoided the boneyard on purpose last trip...I didnt think we would ever be able to leave :)

I am not sold on the AK parade - it's just OK in my book. Glad you enjoyed it.

Cathy

Just wanted to say i'm here!! Finally all caught up with your report. It's been a magical one so far! I just can't get over how cute Jilly is!! Can't wait for more ;)

We've never sat through a parade at AK. :confused3 Maybe it's too hot for us so we just keep it moving. :rolleyes1 Lol.

I just found your trip report and love it!!!:thumbsup2 Jilly is so cute! I can't wait to see what's next!!!!popcorn::

I know! I seriously could have stayed at a hotel with a pool and a playground and she probably would have been happy! :rotfl:

Sounds like a relaxing day.

You know, you're right. We did a lot, but because it wasn't too crowded or hot, we moved at a pretty easy pace and really enjoyed it!

Thanks, Keala! I'm glad you like the pictures! I probably would have been finished with my TR a month ago if I didn't take so many. Eventually I will move on to day three...:confused3

We missed the MK parade because Jilly wanted to play in the hotel pool for a bit. We love the parades, and it's a nice excuse to just sit down and relax for a little while!

There were actually a few people in front of us, but the parade floats are so big they're easy to see even if you don't have a good spot. It's not a long parade so I think it's worth taking the time to see it!:thumbsup2

I haven't seen the AK parade in about 5 years. Need to see it next trip for sure.

It actually wasn't too hard to convince Jilly to leave anything during the trip. I think she was under the magical spell of Disney and knew she would have fun no matter where we went! :wizard:

Great update Jen!!! The Boneyard looks like so much fun!! I am so bummed we didn't get time to play there!! Great parade pics too, it's one of my favorite parades, I love all the animals and the music!!! Jilly is cute as always!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Thanks! I'm glad you like the parade too! It's just so creative, definitely not your standard parade floats!

just caught up on your tr! great pics!! (what kind of camera do you have?!?!)

Thanks for following along! I have a Canon Digital SLR (EOS Rebel xsi). The best thing about this camera is that my husband is willing to use it so I have once again started making appearances in our pictures!! :lmao:

Hopefully your daughter will be tall enough and brave enough to ride the 40" rides. I call Jilly my Chicken Little, because she's afraid of anything that goes up and down or moves faster than a carousel...sigh...

Nice AK update! We avoided the boneyard on purpose last trip...I didnt think we would ever be able to leave :)

It was truly more magical than I could have hoped. More pixie dust coming soon!

We've never sat through a parade at AK. :confused3 Maybe it's too hot for us so we just keep it moving. :rolleyes1 Lol.

That's the nice part about travelling in spring/fall...the weather is pretty enjoyable so you don't have to dump ice water on your head if you stand outside too long!

I just found your trip report and love it!!!:thumbsup2 Jilly is so cute! I can't wait to see what's next!!!!popcorn::
