So I've never considered going to WDW alone. I've always gone w/ my family & kids. But times change, & now I find myself a divorced mother of 2 FABULOUS kids. We basically live in our car (on the go ) that is. Between the ballpark & dance class & church school & enough I'm tired just typing it all. We had the wonderful opportunity to cruise DCL ( just myself & the kids) last fall. And I surprised myself @ how great I did as the only responsible (subjective, I guess) adult spearheading the vacation. Between driving from Louisiana to Florida by myself, managing the hotels, the documents.... I finally realized I could handle more than I've ever given myself credit for.
Anyway, I've been wanting to do a little something to get away from all the schedules just for a few days, & found that it would probably have to be alone. Next question...
Why Disney?? I mean I've been there 23 times, there has to be someplace else I'd like to see. Well of course there is, but for my first solo adventure there are few places I would feel totally comfortable & safe to be by myself.
There were other key factors in my destination decision process. My parents had a credit w/ Southwest that would more than cover the cost of my flight. I also have an old Park Hopper pass w/ 1 day left unused. The final incentive was when I found a code on Mousesavers that was good for 3 nights @ POP for a total of $270. & that's during spring break.
Now I know what you're saying "but it will be a madhouse during spring break". I know but that's OK I'll do what I can & just learn how to enjoy being w/ "me"!!
OK so I fly out Friday 4/17 in the evening & return Monday 4/20 also in the evening. The kids will be w/ their dad until Sunday, when my mom will take over to get them to school on Monday.
I don't think I'll try for any ADR's, just take it @ my own pace. I'm considering doing Epcot on Saturday w/ the one day pass that I'll have to buy. I just want to explore World Showcase in my leisurely way, eating & drinking to my enjoyment.
I think I'll do Magic Kingdom on Sunday w/ the hopper pass I have left, as it is open from 9am - midnight (EMH), & I have to option of jetting off to another park for a bit.
Monday I think I'll go to DTD eventhough we did spend the day there in Sept. post cruise. I'll just do a little walking, shopping, etc before Magical Express picks me up, I'm sure about 3pm for my 5:30 flight.
If anyone has other suggestions please chime in...more to come
