My 25 yr. old daughter (yes, she's a little bit older) treated me to a week at Disney this past February. We're both teachers and had the week off for Mardi Gras break. I'm still in the process of restoring my house from Hurricane Katrina and would never have considered spending money on a trip. (A crooked contractor stole a very large sum of money from us and we are left to make the repairs ourselves.) I've spent all my free time working on the house and my daughter said I was "too stressed-out" and needed to have some fun. She truly believes in that Disney magic.
I didn't want my daughter to spend her hard-earned money on me and had a million reasons why I shouldn't go. I felt guilty when I finally accepted her offer to go on the trip. She and I had the best time in the world together and reconnected in a way that we haven't done in a long time. I am so blessed to have a daughter that loves me enough to see that I was going a little crazy and needed to get away from things. That week in Disney World was magical in so many ways and one that I'll never forget!
