"mom, really? Disney in December again?" PTR** link to TR last page**

I finally made it over here... I'm so glad your mom decided to come with you!!! :cool1:

Thanks for coming on over!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We are glad too, I was really worried there for a while that she wouldn't come and she will love the Poly so much that I would hate to see her miss it.

Are you sick of my OCD yet?

For a trip that I wasn't going to make any plans for I seem to change the schedule a lot don't I?:confused3

Oh well here it is and as before it may change at any time

Schedule-1.jpg

So I am trying to decide if I want to make t-shirts for our trip. I got some great DISigns over on the DISign boards and I am thinking about doing iron on transfers. I know I can get shirts fro $4 at walmart and they have the iron on transfer paper too.

Has anyone made shirts before? was it easy and did the kids like them(if you made them for kids, I know I will make some for me too!)

so last year I took a Heys travel mate bag to WDW and although it held my stuff it had a lot of pockets and I always found myself looking through pockets. Some of the time I ended up bringing my purse and I really hate to do that.

This year I wasn't sure what I was going to do until the other day when I was at the mall and I found a tote bag that I absolutely love!!!

I know a tote bag seems weird for WDW but I really like totes and this one seems perfect

YES!!! I think you should make them! :goodvibes

Sorry, I don't mean to sound bossy! LOL I wasn't sure if I wanted to make them either, especially after I found 3 local stores that had really, really good sales on Disney tshirts & shorts for my son. BUT I ended up getting plain tshirts & started making them. I also got some shirts for myself.

If you look on my PTR, there's a post about the shirts. I got my shirts at Kohls & spent anywhere from $3-6 for them I think. My PTR has the exact prices of each. I then went to Hobby Lobby and found my son tshirts for $1.50 each! I thought they'd be crappy quality, but they are actually pretty heavy duty (so far anyway). They were originally $2.99 each but I got them 50% off. My shirts are mostly spaghetti strap or tanks but I picked up a few tshirts as well.

You can find plain tshirts at any craft store (Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, etc) and usually at stores like Walmart, Kmart, Kohls, Target, etc. The craft stores usually have cheaper prices, but sometimes the quality is better at other stores. :confused3

I got my transfer papers from AmyMickey. I guess they aren't allowed to post the link on DIS because of the rules, but if you PM me, I can give you her website & contact info! I've used different brands of transfers over the years & I can tell you, I am sooo glad someone on DIS mentioned hers. They are the best I've ever used. You can also use each sheet more than 1 time which is really nice.

In addition to the tshirts, I also made my son a tote bag (his carry-on for on the plane) as well as some trip items for some friends of mine. Make sure you use the "cotton" setting even if the material isn't cotton. My tote bag was made of some type of thin material so I was afraid it would burn on the cotton setting, but the decal wouldn't transfer unless the iron was on "cotton". (just a little advice! I always learn the hard way! lol)

My son is only 2 years old & he gets excited whenever he sees me making the shirts! He says "Wow" or "oooh!" and smiles! :goodvibes I also made them for friends of mine who have older children (ages 5-9) and they were all super excited to see their favorite Disney characters! And they were even more excited whenever I let them see the DISigns on the Internet & then let them help me print them & iron them on! It was great to include them in the process. I think it made them appreciate the shirts more than something I'd just pick up at the store! IMO, I actually like the DISigns I got on here better than what they have at the stores anyway...plus they are extra special since they are unique!!!

I would definitely make them! Its fun & the kids love them! Hope that helps!

After you mentioned your new bag on my PTR, I had to come & check it out!

I definitely like how the middle compartment zippers as well as the entire tote! I don't think a tote is weird for WDW, I just think you need to take whatever works best for you & your organization style! I'm planning to take my Vera tote with me as well, although I really like that yours zippers! As I said before, mine only has a toggle closure & I'm afraid of everything falling out everywhere. Good choice on the bag! :thumbsup2

Thanks I think I will make them especially since I have some cute MVMCP designs that are great for the kids

The middle zipper compartment was the thing that sold me on the bag, plus it's also a washable material so I don't have to worry about spills

Hi there! We are going to be at Disney World the exact same dates as you, and are also doing MVMCP on Dec. 9th! :yay: Loving your PTR...thinking I should start one, I may do that in the next few days! I just wanted to say we are doing t-shirts, and if you decide to do them you can order online from Shirt Champ (if you google them you'll find them. The addy is the name :) Anyway, they have the best prices I've found...kids shirts start at $1.50 each. We are making them for 12 people for 5 days (and possibly a different shirt for MVMCP dependingon how my yard sale goes - all of the proceeds from that are what I am using to make the shirts :goodvibes), so for us I really had to find a really good price to make it do-able!

Wow that is a lot of shirt options. Thank you so much for that!:cheer2:

:welcome: to my PTR

I have actually changed my MVMCP to the 5th, I can't wait till almost the end of my trip to do it, plus then I start my trip with MVMCP and end it with the Candlelight Processional which is great since I think this will be our last Christmas trip for a while ( we wanna check out MNSSHP and try a cruise)

Where are you staying and you shoud definately start a PTR, everyone is so helpful when you need information:wizard:

Whoo Hoo got December hours and it looks like my plans are all good and I don't have to change anything (so far :rolleyes1 )

Now if only the candlelight processional information would come out I would be set!

I am not doubting where everyone got the hours for December. I am just wondering where it came from for future trips. ?????

So I went to a Disney store near me today and they are closing for the summer to renovate so everything is 75% off!!!!!

I needed some shirts for the trip so I got a few things while I was there!!!:rolleyes1

Shirts for me!
