Mom & DD mini vacation? Should we go??

We got back three weeks ago from WDW and loved it. DH is very busy this summer with work so we are not going to do a vacation. DS will be in football camp and I was thinking of taking DD (12) as a surprise to WDW this August for her vacation (4-5 days)? Am I crazy or what????? I already have left over passes and air would be cheap. The hotel is a concern. What do ya think?

I don't think air will be cheap. Gas prices are outrageous and it is already reflected in airfare prices.

I paid $178 plus taxes for my tickets from Dallas to MCO....they are over $400 for the same dates now.

Do it! Hotels on site in August are NOT that expensive! We have stayed at a Moderate in August for around $84 a night!

Plus aside from the South American tourists the parks aren't that crowded!

Go! Enjoy! I have gone with DD a couple of times and am planning a third trip soon. It's wonderful one-on-one fun time!

Go for it. We went last Sept on a family trip, and 2 weeks later I did a mom and DS5 (at the time) trip for MNSSHP. It was great. I actually liked it better as we didnt have to worry about waiting for others. We rode just what WE wanted. Yes I rode Dumbo 3 times.

We went at the speed we wanted, ate when we got hungry. Much easier planning with 2 than 5. Someone was always hungry, tired, not tired, hot, etc when the other wanted to do something else.

I already planned a Mom DS6 trip for this Oct and Dec. I bought AP's for both of us for our May trip with these in mind. My DD16 said she is all Disney'd out. She must have been switched at the hospital at birth.

Jetblue and Song were running $69-79 each way. Remember Songs prices include the tax.

Have a great time. And look into a AP's for future trips I know once you go once with DD you will want to go over and over.
