I have been reading here for a while but have not posted much. You have such a wonderful community here ... so willing to help each other!! I have learned so many things that I didn't know and I thought I knew Disney pretty well! Here's my question, my DH, DS11 and I will be going to WDW next August for what will be out last trip for possibly many years. We have been lucky enough to go 5 times in the past 4 years but finances have changed. I am planning 10 days at POP with the dining plan (need to have it paid upfront). DH wants to go to the ESPN Club for dinner one night so DS and I can have a nice meal just "Mom & Son". I think we may do it when there is a MK EMH so we can spend some time together. I am trying to think of someplace a bit special for us. Can't be Le Cellier because DH wants to eat there with us. We are not real fussy when it comes to food and DH would rather have a steak than McD's! I am looking for any and all suggestions for a Mom & Son dinner. Can be character or not and it really doesn't matter where in the World it is because we are comfortable getting around. The only place we are really against is the Sci Fi ... just didn't like the food enough to go back! THANK YOU in advance for your advice!

How adventurous an eater is your 11 yo? Would he like something exotic like Moroccan Food? If not, Liberty Tree at MK has a nice character dinner.

I actually thought about Morocco because I know he would like the dancer! :lmao: Not sure he would actually like the spices there though.

We love Liberty Tree and usually do that as a family. That is part of my dilemna, I don't want to exclude DH from our past favorites. Liberty Tree may be the answer though if we do go when there is the MK EMH.

He has suggested San Angel in Mexico. We ate there 3 years ago and were less than impressed. From the reviews here, I don't think it has improved much. I really wanted Nine Dragons because we have never gone there but it will be closed.

Lots of possibilities here..maybe a place like Narcoosse's in the Grand Floridian?

I say Chef Mickeys. (I just asked my 10 yr old son) . We are going on a Mom and Son trip in 19 days. It has a little for everyone, and a fun environment!

Have fun on your upcoming trip! Last night my DS asked if we could go to Jiko for the mac & cheese filet ... I definitely show him too many pictures on the Dis! :rotfl: I think it is a bit out of budget but DH says that we will figure it out. So unless he changes his mind before I can make my ADRs in February, Jiko it is!
