Moisturizer

Do you mind me asking what product line you use? I use neutrogena anti wrink with retinol for day and the one they make for nights. I have used them for a couple of years and they have made a difference. My sister's who are around the same age as you always comment on why my does skin look good. I try and tell them to use retinol and they just don't believe me. They buy some pricey products but not with retinol. Thanks in advance.

Yes, do tell!

I've used the Olay Daily Effects for some time now, and I like it, but always wonder if there's something "better".:lmao:

As far as the retinol cream goes, I typcially get the Roc night cream, although I've used Olay before and it works just as well. Daytime, I use a peptide cream, Firm-X, that I get at Sephora. It is very pricey, though. There are other brands, but the ones I've seen are all about the same price, unfortunately. Ah well, the price we pay for beauty. :)

I started using it at 13. I just got my dd's 12 and 10 their first bottle, with SPF 25. We are fair skinned so it's just plain ol' prudent.

My friends think I'm in my 30's, I'm really in my 40's, so I guess my mom was right!

You are never to young to moisturize!

I came late to moisturizing, not starting until I hit my late 40s. But I'm lucky enough to have good genes--my mother's mother had a lovely English Rose complexion into her 70s. Plus, I've never been much of a sun-worshipper as I have fair skin and light eyes. I use Aveeno Daily Moisturizer 15spf with or without makeup. I have had a lot of compliments on my youth. :goodvibes That's what I get for having kids late in life. They keep you young even as they give you gray hair.

Never too young, I do agree! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the information. I am going to check out the Firm X and tell my sisters about it and the Roc too. I have seriously seen a difference just with the Neutrogena with retinol, I am religous about using it. Peptides are something I have never even heard of before, I am going to go read about them. I need to go to the mall Friday and there is a Sephora there so I will pop in. Thanks again:goodvibes

I haven't found a moisturizer yet that doesn't turn my skin red. I, for one, am better off without.
Currently under my bathroom sink I have:
1) Vaseline total moisturizer
2) Eucerin intense moisture
3) Dermorest moisturizer
4) Bath and Body Works Grin and Bare it moisturizer
5) Bath and Body Works Overnight moisturizer
6) Petroluem jelly (actually works best of the lot.)
7) Bag Balm
8) Hoof Maker

Try plain Vaseline. It's great and it's cheap. My skin is very sensitive and that's what I use. At 53, people think I'm in my late thirties which is funny because that would make me about 3 years older than my oldest child.:)

That said Dr Zein Obagi who founded and formulated the Obagi skin care line believes that if you care for your skin properly, you won't need moisturizer. Dermatologists that I have either seen as a patient or whom I know as friends say the same thing. On Tuesday, I started the Obagi program, so we'll see.

I'm bad about doing this, but my dermatologist suggested putting a PHYSICAL BLOCK sunscreen on as well. Can't recall if it is before or after the moisturizer. Most don't block both UVA and UVB rays. (I forget which is which.)

So I have clear zinc oxide....but keep forgetting to use it.:headache:

I have the discolorations beginning and she said it was because of the set of rays that aren't blocked with basic SPF sunscreens/moisturizers.
