Modifying my ticket/package

I'm not sure if I received accurate information from a CM about modifying a package so I'll ask here. Can I deduct days from my ticket if I modify outside the 30 day window? I'm not sure how many park days I will need so I'm thinking about getting a 5-day ticket but I may only need a 4-day ticket once I have my days planned. If that's possible, will my FPs still be there if I only have 4 days of FPs booked?

1. Yes. (You can also do so within the last 30 days, but you may incur a "change fee.")
2. OK.
3. The booked 4 days of FP will remain.

A typical difference in price between a 4-day ticket and a 5-day ticket is about $36.

I'm in a similar boat.. I bought tickets for the family and assigned them, but now we cancelled. Since we haven't used them yet but they will expire this year and we cant go till at LEAST 2021 I am thinking of assigning all of them to just one name (mine) so the credit is easier to manage. Thoughts?

Shouldn't matter too much one way or the other, if the tickets and those to whom they are assigned are already in YOUR same MyDisneyExperience account.
