We're booked for 2 nights sapphire falls in a couple of weeks with an AP rate but if a premier hotel opens up with an AP rate for our dates, I'd really like to switch for the express pass. I've been stalking and it does look like there are some last-minute cancellations creating good availability of AP rates 1-3 days ahead. Looking at the policy, it says you lose your one-night deposit if you cancel within 5 days of your trip, but if I use the "change reservation" option instead of cancelling and switch to another Universal hotel, will that count as a cancellation?

I have recently been making changes … they will allow a change but deposit will remain with the original resort.
Currently it seems the best advice is to keep any AP rates cause everything is getting to be more expensive.
I wish you luck tho.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Will just keep it then if another hotel doesn't open up with an AP rate before the 5 day mark. The EP is a nice to have but not a must have for us as I am mostly just going to geek out in Wizarding World and drink butterbeer. :cloud9:
