We are set to check in this Friday and things have come up at work for my husband. If I modify the reservation to check in on Saturday instead - still the same number of nights, just starting a day later - do I lose my deposit? I seem to remember a CRO CM telling me once that you don't unless you actually *cancel*, but that modifying it is ok. It would make our lives a ton easier if we could just slide our arrival date back one day. (And I already checked, there is availability the night we'd add on to the end, so that's not a problem.)

Hey Neighbor,
Always modify, never cancel. The only downfall for modifying is if you have codes and there is no longer rooms open for those codes. Otherwise modifying is no problem. I was even told by a CM to modify to a later date and if I had to cancel 6 days out I would still receive my deposit back. As a FL resident that goes several times a year make sure you always tell them you are a FL resident and what are the specials for FL residents. The last time I paid rack was for grand opening of Pop. Good Luck and have fun.

Wish I didn't have to work this weekend or I'd be up there too. But then again I like it when its slow. Don't forget to try Soarin'. Its Awesome

One week ago I had to call and move our date up a day. We are staying June 4-9 instead of June 5-10. I had a code for AKL and was concerned I may lose the code because I was changing my date. Everything stayed the same, code and all. :cool1:

Thanks to both who offered answers!

Just an update for anyone in the future who may need the info - I called CRO this morning and was told that it was fine. As long as you make a modification before the date of arrival, it's no problem. (She didn't even say that you *can't* make a modification ON the date of arrival, but that it's just more complicated because they have to go through Guest Services because your deposit has been downloaded to the resort at that point.)

So now I have to get DH to decide for sure whether he wants to push it back a day or not! (I went ahead and added the extra night at the end for now - then I'll either call later and cancel the first night or the last, depending on what he wants to do with his work situation.)

Thanks all!
