Modify Transferred Points

I transferred points in for the first time for our upcoming Spring Break 2023 vacation. I'd like to book an extra day at the front and back end to have some flight flexibility when I book them few months later. I know I need to call MS to book the initial reservation but do I also need their help to modify? Or can I modify on my own? TIA!

Transferred points work very well online when booking for modifying 7 months or less.

If wanting to do either during the home resort booking period, people have had to call.

If I've originally been able to see them online then modifying has been no issue. If they get transferred in the old way where you have to call to use them then modifying has also required a call in my experience.

Thanks for asking, DVChris! I had the same question as I need to modify an existing reservation tomorrow that I made with transferred points. I am wondering, though....the reservation I made used 84 (transferred) points and I want to modify it to use up an additional (2) more points that were also transferred. Will I still be able to do that? I assume that I will be able to see the transferred contract come up when I try to make the modification, correct? I am planning to modify a standard 1BR at BWV to a standard 1BR at AKV-Kidani so I don't think I will have an issue with availability...plus I bet someone's waitlist might come through.

You should be able to do it online and use the additional points. Just make sure all contracts with transferred points are checked.

I'm working with my first transferred in points as well - AKV. The day the points were transferred (after the 3way call with MS) the points showed on my dashboard. I was able to book within 7 mos but not 11 mos. There went my dreams of getting a week in a value room . Also, the day after the transfer, the points are no longer visible on my dashboard.

I've spoken and chatted with various CMs at MS now and some told me it was impossible to see the points, others said it works for some, and one CM went so far as to try something on the back end that was supposed to make the points accessible to me but it didn't work.
