Hi everyone, we are going n the beginning of february w/ a 3 year old and a set of 5 month old twins. ( i know) Which moderate is the best in your opinion. Which one has easiest access to magic kingdom?

Thanks for your help!

Laura

POFQ is the smallest and if you are concerned with walking, that may be your best bet. I prefer CSR over all the other mods because it does not share transportation, has a great pool and awesome food options. But it is a large resort which could mean more walking for your family.

We stayed at the POFQ in May and LOVED IT. We had a 2,3, & 8 yr old. We were in building 7 which is the farthest away from the main building and it was only a 3 or 4 minute walk, and we had about a 2 minute walk to get to the bus stop. :yay: The kids and DH and I fell in love with POFQ. I stayed at the CBR a couple of times and it is HUGE. We will be staying at POR this May cause we are now officially at party of 5 in Disney's eyes.
Hope this helps

I would go with POFQ due to it's smaller size and more kid friendly pool. All the mods are about equal in convenience to the Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, CSR has the best transportation and is more centrally located to the parks than POR/POFQ, but it is a large resort and the pool is geared more to older children.

I think all of the mods are great- each one having thier own pluses. Being that you are going w/ children, I think the best one would be POFQ.. I think this for a couple of reasons... its small, so walking around is just going to be done at the parks. There is only one bus stop at POFQ & it should be the first stop before it picks up anyone at POR... There is a boat that takes you to DTD, the dragon slide is lots of fun for kids, there is a horse drawn carriage ride at night that you and your family can experience. You can also walk right on over to POR.

Also, please remember that CSR is nice but its huge, walking around is a drawback here & its also a convention center! CBR pool is being refurb until Sept 2008.

Whichever one you choose I hope you have a blast!

All the mods are huge with the exception of POFQ. CSR has the least amount of rooms out of CBR and POR. As far as the convention aspect, it depends on how you look at it. For me, the convention guests keep the buses and pools less crowded because they are busy during the day doing their work.

yes they are all big w/ the exception of POFQ but imo CSR is not convienent... For the most part I loved CSR but it was not convienent for us... The op said she had children, walking around this resort just to get to the pool is crazy & to wait for a little golf cart to pick you up is even more ridiculous. As for the convention guests, it did play a role on our vacation TWICE during the day as well! Having parties on property and setting up in areas was a big deal to get around for us.

We love them all (we are trying POFQ next month!!!:cool1: ). I have not stayed there, but think it makes for the better choice for your situation.

One thing to keep in mind about CBR, is the fireworks from Epcot. My DD3 would always be rattled by the 9:15pm "boom-booms".

We've stayed at the CBR two years in a row and really enjoyed it both times. The rooms at the CBR are 340 square feet whereas the other moderates are 314 square feet. With your three children, that extra space will come in handy.

Most rooms have two double beds, an armoire, table and chairs and a bench that has a storage area beneath. There are two sinks at the CBR which comes in handy when everybody is getting ready at once. There is also a dorm size refrigerator, an iron, ironing board, coffee pot and hairdryer.

The CBR is a large resort but getting to and from the food court/restaurant/
store, etc. is easy. The walk around the entire promenade is just 1.4 miles and Old Port Royale is in the middle, so, even if you were in a village furthest from OPR, you're never more than half that far away.

There is also an internal resort bus you can take if you don't want to walk.

You could also request a preferred location which would put you near OPR.

Each village has their own white sandy beach complete with hammocks and beach chairs. Some of the beaches have volleyball nets and some have small playgrounds. The villages also have a quiet pool and, with the rehab of the main pool, they are adding slides to the quiet pools.

Near each village pool are laundry facilities. With three little ones, you might find a need to wash a few items. If you do, you can wash your clothes while sitting by the pool.

In the middle of the lake, there is a small island. On the island, you will find picnic tables, benches and hammocks. Nice place to relax.

The food court at the CBR has a pretty large variety of foods to choose from and have something for everyone. Pizza, deli sandwiches, burgers, salads, chicken strips, turkey, roast beef, veggies, etc. At breakfast, you'll find a variety of breakfast meats, omlets, waffles, etc.

One day at lunch, the castmembers held an impromptu limbo contest for the kids which delighted them all.

The store is divided in two with one side selling the more traditional Disney merchandise such as t-shirts, hats, purses, watches, jewelry, souveniers, etc. The other side had beach/tropical themed items and lots of pirate stuff.

The CBR is centrally located and it never took us long to reach any Disney destination. Our trip to MGM took only 11 minutes and that was from the time we boarded until the time we pulled into the MGM bus station.

The buses ran efficiently during our stay. We never waited long for a bus and, at times, there were two and three buses at the bus station at once. I think the longest we waited was about 20 minutes and that was because we jjuusstt missed the Epcot but. This also wasn't during peak time either. It was about 10:30 or so. Later than most people are getting to the parks.

The ride to the Magic Kingdom didn't take long at all. We rode the bus over to Magic Kingdom every time and we liked the fact that our bus driver would drop us off as close to the park entrance as possible.

Hope this information helps you in your decision making process. If you have more questions, just let me know.

CSR is a great resort! You wouldn't be dissappointed. You can check out my CSR website below for pics and info. CSR has bus stops placed in the three areas so it is convenient from your room to the bus stops. The pool is in the middle of the resort and the main building is in the front of the resort. The conventions definitely help more than they hurt. They keep the pools and buses less crowded as already mentioned. CBR is the largest resort and POR and CSR are about equal.

That said, in your case, POFQ is might fit your needs best because of the ages of your kids.

Mickeystoontown I am curious about the internal bus at CBR. I was under the impression that CSR was the only resort with the internal bus.
We are traveling with 2 that have mobility issues and the internal bus would be great. CSR has no rooms available during our stay so we chose POR.
If CBR has the internal bus we may change resorts.

Thanks for your info. It was very helpful.

Well once again, I'm the odd man out, but I did NOT like FQ. It was a terrible resort- they gave us a room that hold mold in the shower, broken tiles on the floor, and a broken TV. It took the front desk 3 days to replace or repair the TV. The front desk and concierge were rude on numerous occasions.- Oh and mousekeeping threw out our dessert that was in our fridge. Not sure why. Oh yes- and the buses you share with POR, so most times you're making all the stops at that resort as well. There were repeated times when on the way back from a park (at closing), they would drop FQ guests off last, so you had to suffer through all the stops again.

Aside from having nice grounds it was not an impressive stay whatsoever.
We won't ever be going back to FQ, and I'm still agitated that we spent our money on that resort- I think we would have had better luck at a VR.

If we ever stay at a moderate again, I would be open to anything but FQ.

CSR has an internal shuttle provided by golf carts (see pic below) that drive around on the pathway around the lake. CBR has an internal bus that drives on the roads.

I'm glad that the information I provided was helpful.

The internal bus at the CBR is a large Disney bus and it makes it way around the resort. There are bus stops for each village and you can get off at any time.
