I am planning a trip to wdw in feb 06, I figure a week at a moderate resort with the dining plan would cost about the same as a week at a wilderness cabin with no food. I can't decide whether to go for the extra room and kitchen, or small hotel room and restaurants. help! :earsboy:

How much cooking do you want/expect to do on YOUR vacation? Are you willing to go back to the cabin for every meal, frequently disrupting the flow of your vacation?

How many people will you have in your group? If feeling crowded in the room is not an issue, then I think I would choose the moderate with the dining package, just so you can have the freedom of trying restaurants and dishes that might have otherwise been too expensive.

That being said, however, I have stayed at FW many times (always in the campground, though, not the cabins), and I really really love it there. FW feels like a whole other world, very relaxing and beautiful.

There are 4 of us, two boys age 12 and 16. I don't really mind cooking but wonder about having to be so scheduled with dinner reservations.?

I have kids similiar in age to yours and we too are going at a time of year with shorter park hours, Nov 06.

Given that, I expect us to be at the parks pretty much from opening to closing. No way is my group going to want to go back to the room to have lunch, though an occasional dinner would probably be fine.

As for me, I cook as little as possible on vacation. :rolleyes1
