Wow I haven't posted in forever! I am trying to find the funds for a surpris trip for me and DH in March. We usually stay deluxe, but with a new house and a 10 month old, that's just not in the cards right now. Im thinking moderate. What would everyone suggest? I was thinking French quarter, but I know they also share buses with riverside. Wich moderate do u guys think has the best transportation? Any tips welcome :goodvibes

We have stayed at POR twice and have never had a problem with the buses being shared. Yes, you have to stop at the other resort, but we would sometimes stop at FQ, grab a drink and then walk to our room.

If you are also going just the two of you, then it is also a little bit more romantic than the rest. We love the resort for the atmosphere.

I think POFQ would be great with a new baby since the resort is not very big. You will always be close to the food court and bus stops. When we stayed last year, we had very good bus service and it always dropped of French Quarter first. TO be honest, sharing with POR wasn't really a big deal to us. Most of the other mod resorts have multiple bus stops, so going over to POR is kinda like the same thing since they are so close.

Another vote for French Quarter! It is so peaceful and pretty, a small resort and even though it shares buses with Riverside some times, it really isn't bad. Both Riverside and French Quarter have great evening entertainment a few nights each week. FQ has the bluesy, laid back Elliot Dyson (our favorite), while Riverside has Bob the Piano Man - sweet guy, loud and fun. Both are fabulous, yet very different. :) Of coruse, both resorts have the boat to DTD - it is easier to get on a boat from POR as it is often full when it reaches FQ.

CBR is beautiful & tropical, but quite spread out, as it it a very large resort - it used to be our favorite moderate, but we do not enjoy as much now. We also prefer having a lobby handy and the CBR lobby requires an internal bus, except for a few rooms within walking distance.

CSR is another large and spread out resort - also very pretty, just not our cup of tea. We prefer not to stay at a resort with convention facilities... we even stopped staying at CR because we didn't like seeing all the convention attendees around. Doesn't fit in with our away from world Disney bubble! ;)

Hope you are able to make the trip happen and have a wonderful time!!:goodvibes

I'm going against the tide and suggesting Coronado. The atmosphere is wonderful, there is a huge pool for the little ones and a playground for them as well. Evening strolls are very romantic and over all peaceful. We pushed my daughter around in her stroller many evenings there until she fell asleep. The busses were never a problem for us -- I usually was alone during the day as my husband was working -- I had to load and unload and never felt rushed or hassled, always had a seat and overall thought the process was easy.

I have only stayed at POFQ once and didn't care for the theme. I love POR and Coronado but I would say Coronado might not be good if you get put in one of the buildings far from the lobby and food court. It can be a long walk if you need to get anything for your little one. Definitely don't recommend CBR. Wayyyyy too many bus stops. Who wants to get on the bus and have to make seven or eight more stops before you are on your way to wherever? Especially if you have a stroller, etc in tow. Like I said, I love POR but the sharing of the bus is a bit of a pain. Sometimes the lines are long and one, two, or more buses may come and go before you are able to get on but I think that can also be true of any of the resorts so . . . I vote for POR. Love the Mississippi plantation theme. Very charming. Also a little quieter than POFQ maybe as I think the FQ theme attracts more families.

Love French Quarter! We were there last March for 11 days, and only one time did we share a bus with Riverside. The bus service was really good for the most part. The boat to DTD is great. Boat or a lovely walk along the river to the sister resort. We loved that it was small and didn't have to walk a mile to get to anything. No complaints. We are hopefully headed back in Jan/Feb 2013 and will stay there again.

For an adults only moderate, I would say CSR for sure. The grounds are beautiful, bus service is usually decent, and I think the food options are good here. It also has a spa and lounge if that interests you.

I think POFQ is an excellent choise. This is our favorite moderate resort. We have never had problems with the buses. It is such a small , quaint resort that I think that you will enjoy it. Also the beignets are awesome.

For an adults-only trip, CSR for sure. It has a nice upscale vibe, the rooms are lovely and the beds are very comfortable. It has a very peaceful feeling to it. The food options there are much better than POFQ. We've always had excellent luck with the buses there, too.

WDW is so much fun for adults without kids! We've enjoyed our no-kids vacations there very much. Have fun planning!

Between POR and CSR - the transportation at CSR was far superior in our experience! Busses were equally as frequent, but with CSR being a convention hotel, the buses were never crowded. We NEVER stood ONCE - over an 8 day period beginning Memorial Day weekend.... even on the trips back to the hotel after park close time.

We later discussed the down side to empty busses - as if there could be one.... we have met so many great people on the busses, and we didn't have that experience at CSR.... but we got to sit down..:)

POFQ or POR. My DH and I are going the end of October and we are staying at POFQ. It a smaller more romantic resort. The theming and the food court were nice at both. CSR and CBR are both too big. CSR we did not like the food court. It was always very full and ran just too different for our taste. Also there was a large convention there that interfered with us getting to our room and enjoying our quite pool CBR the buses always seemed to crowded. Even though POR has a few stops we were always able to get on one and we never shared with POFQ. POFQ we only shared buses at really slow times. At times when the parks close they always had their own.

POFQ. Smallest resort, very compact in size, building five, facing the grass courtyard which puts you very close to awesome pool, main building, and bus stop/parking lot. We have stayed there several times, at approx half the cost of a deluxe, our kids love it...it feels like home to us!
