Which is better? I am staying 5 days, 4 nights with DH, DD(4) and DS(1). I plan on getting the Dream pkg with the UPH...I think there is only a $200 difference. Which would you recommend & why?

TIA!

A moderate for sure. The pools have slides, the theming is beautiful, and the rooms are a little bigger than at the values. I'm pretty sure that CBR has the largest rooms of any of the moderates. DH and I stayed there once and loved it. POFQ is supposed to be great too - I'm really hoping that we can try that out sometime soon.

To be fair, we have only spent one night at a value (Sports) but we thought it was loud and crowded and didn't care for it although the theming was adorable!

We've stayed at CBR & POFQ, as well as AS Mo. We're headed back to a moderate this time (CSR) for a couple of reasons.
1. If you expect to spend more time at the resort with your little ones, there is more to do at the moderates: better play areas and pools, plus waterslides, slightly larger rooms, better food options, plus marina options.
2. The All Stars feel more crowded and are definitely noisier. More concrete, less landscaping.
3. I think the theming is a wash. We loved the Fantasia theming and Andy's room, etc at AS Mo. And the pool, while big and busy, was fun. The moderates feel more like a resort.

You'll have a great time regardless, but my vote goes to the moderates. Pick one based on your favorite theming elements.

We have stayed at All Star Music and Port Orleans Riverside. We were quite happy with All Stars but after staying at POR we hope to always stay at Moderate resorts. The landscaping was beautiful and we enjoyed the peace and quiet when not in the parks. We often had the quiet pool to ourselves. (Our kids are teens and young adults though).
Where ever you go you will have a great time. It's Disney!

With young children, definitely stay at a moderate. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and POFQ also gets very good reviews.

Are you sure you want to do the Dream Package or wait for the new MYW package deals that Disney starts selling Jan. 2? It's a good deal with a 4 year old and 1 year old, especially if you get the dining option and you aren't planning on going to waterparks.

Given the ages of your children, ave your money this time and stay at one of Values. Your kids will probably not be into pool slides yet and most kids are just darn happy to be at a pool ... any pool.

We stayed at Pop Century and had a great time. The busses are very prompt and the food court is nice. Other people really like All Star Movies.

It just totally depends on what is important to you. We stayed at POFQ and loved it, but this last year stayed at Pop Century and loved it. My DD loved the kiddie pool area and running around all of the courtyards that are themed. We are going back in May and will be staying there again. DD1 will be almost 3 and DD2 will be 1. We felt like it was perfect and since we spend most of the time in the parks, would rather spend that extra money elsewhere. Hope you figure out what works best for you!

I'd stay at a moderate, but we won't be staying at a value again after a less than thrilling time at Pop in May - moderate or deluxe only for us. Just too loud, we couldn't sleep. Plus the rooms are pretty small.

I think the pools are MUCH nicer at moderates, it's quieter and more resort like instead of motel like, the room are a bit larger, food court is nicer, and it's laid out nicer I think.

Good luck in your choice!

Definitely the moderate. We have stayed at both and have found that though the values are very nice, comfortable and less expensive, they lacked that something special that moderates and deluxes have. Mods have more options for dining, recreation and better pools! The theming and look of the mods is more appealing and we feel, makes for a more enjoyable vacation.
Good luck!

For sure the moderates. The moderates are a better value than the value for all that you get for your money. Room size alone. If you go to the Cb the room size will be 340 sq feet verses around 260 for a value.

I have stayed at CBR and POFQ. I liked them both very much, but I really loved Pop Century. Even if I wanted to go back to the mods. my ten year old daughter insists it's only Pop Century for us. I personally feel that Pop Century is more fun for kids. The place is larger then life and my daughter loved the Hippie Dippie Pool and the game room. If a water slide is important you can go to the water parks for that.

The room size is a little smaller than the mods. but I didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people say. My wife didn't even notice that much of a difference. Having said that, it really depends on what floats your boat. I told my co-worker how much fun I had and how great this resort was. Based on my reccomendation she booked Pop Century and when she returned she wasn't that thrilled with the resort. She preferred a more upscale place. People's tastes varies so you really have to judge for yourself. I just feel Pop Century is a whole experience unto itself and the late night swims at the hippie dippie pool were really nice.

Thanks everybody for posting your reviews and comments! My 8-year-old son and I are headed to Pop Century in a few days, and as much as I'm tempted to upgrade to a moderate for the nicer amenities, it's Pop Century he goes nuts for when we look at the resort pictures together. For him, I think the theming will be a very big deal.

I'm so excited about this trip I can hardly stand it! :Pinkbounc
