check thrift stores. you can often find DME for extremely cheap and some of our local ones actually give them away for free. just re donate it when you return. cane seats are not really any safer or more sturdy and many other public venues are forbidding their use.

there are rollator designs that are very lightweight and compact. and I have never seen one that didn't fold flat or nearly flat.
