Mobile walk-up dining question

I'll be at DW next week and I'm still confused about the mobile walk-up dining reservations. If a restaurant is showing as fully booked for that day is there potential to get in using mobile walk-up? Do the restaurants save spots for that or is it based on cancellations/no-shows?

Any other tips are also appreciated as I was shut out from getting any dining reservations in advance.

Thanks.

Some table service restaurants have a mobile waitlist. Otherwise quick service restaurants have Mobile Ordering and when your food is ready you can then go inside and sit. You can go on the MDE app and look at the restaurants and see how it works. My tip is when you mobile order it will tell you that you check in and tell them you are there so they can start preparing your food. This takes time. Don't expect it to be ready in 5minutes. We would order our food and then venture that way towards the restaurant. Sometimes we waited 20-30 min before food was ready.

Thanks...I should've been more specific. I was referring to the mobile walk-up for table service. It's not clear what the expectation or potential is to actually get a table using that method. I'd love to go to Topolino's for breakfast one morning, but it's unsurprisingly fully booked for advance reservations.

OK. You mean the waitlist. Gotcha. We have not used the waitlist but if the restaurant is full they post a sign outside letting you know they are not taking anymore waitlists. Hope you have a great time and can get in.

Some TS restaurants offer a "mobile" waitlist where you can add yourself to the walk-up list via MDE. But to your point, I'd imagine if they were no longer accepting walk-ups, they'd turn the walk-up list function off for that restaurant within MDE.

OP - I've not heard any reviews of this yet so I'm curious to see the replies too. I know before the mobile walk-up list, we tried to get on the walk up list at Sci Fi one day and were told the wait could be "one hour or four hours or somewhere in between", which was obviously not helpful. Hopefully there's a certain number of tables designated for walk-ups now with the implementation of this mobile waitlist.
