Mobile ordering

so.... I'm a bit confused over this- if a restaurant is listed and it says mobile ordering,does this mean you can ONLY order ahead of time thru the app? You can't walk up and get food? What if it's a ts,and says mobile ordering,how does that work? Are the Disney Springs restaurants the same? thanks

Most restaurants will have a cashier available, too, for in person ordering but they greatly prefer you mobile order (plus you get to skip the long line!). Mobile ordering applies just to quick service restaurants and not all participate (mainly just Disney owned ones).

A handful of table service restaurants offer to-go ordering on the app if you prefer to not eat in the restaurant, or can't get a reservation.

You can look at both the mobile order options and the to-go options on your app. Click the + sign on the bottom and hit "order food" and they are all there. There is only 1 quick service at DS that offers mobile ordering.

I've found that in-park restaurants almost make you use mobile ordering. I remember that at Satuli Canteen, they wouldn't let me in (there were 2 CMs guarding the doors) until I got the text that my order was ready. Yet, the resort restaurants are more laid back. Mara had no problem when I told them that what I wanted from the menu wasn't on mobile order, there was no problem. At Captain Cook's, everyone seemed to order inside, then get a buzzer that would go off when their order was ready. At Primo Platto, even though it says you have to be staying there, I just walked in, no one asked anything, ordered, then waited until my order was ready, like the "old" days.

Is there plenty of outdoor seating when using mobile ordering? I'm trying to plan accordingly for myself and my kids. Or maybe there are benches or curbs to sit on?
