Is it all mobile ordering these days? Can you still order at kiosks or with an actual person (especially re food allergies)? How does mobile ordering work exactly, trying to understand to prepare.

Yes, you can order at a register like normal. Some people like.mobile ordering, because it's sometimes faster but others prefer in person. Many spots don't even offer mobile ordering, esp at Epcot.

We do a mix. Often, we decide on a whim to eat somewhere and it's just as easy to order with a CM. Also, wait times w mobile ordering has been horrendous here lately for us. But occasionally, like last weekend when we were coming by Skyliner to Riviera on our way to HS, we mobile ordered dinner because we had time to on the ride there. And waittimes at Primo are consistently long IMO and it helped cut that down some.

You can just do it in your app if you want to check it out. Just don't finish your order or they'll charge you :)

Thanks, So when you order it, is it ready and waiting? Do you go on a separate line to pick it up, etc?

Your app will tell you when it's ready and which number window to go to. Pickup locations vary by restaurant. Sometimes it'll be ready quickly, and sometimes you'll be waiting awhile. Depends on how busy they are.

Mobile ordering is one thing Disney IT had done really well.

If anyone in your party has allergies and you want to pay for everyone's food together, you'll have to go to the QS and order at the counter.

At any QS where we've eaten, allergy-friendly orders can only be done at the counter.

I've mobile ordered several times, but can someone please explain to the OP and me, what you do once you place the mobile order, then later you want to click "I'm here! Prepare my order." Once I place my mobile order, I can never find it when I go back later on to say that I'm ready now! Please prepare it.

I wasn't even aware of this option

Thank you. Yes, we have one with food allergies.

Click on the 3 lines on the right, then on the Mobile Food Orders tab. It should be listed there where you can click I'm here, prepare my order. We will usually order while we're waiting in line for a ride, when we get off the ride click the I'm here button, then head to the restaurant. By the time we get there it's usually ready or almost ready, occasionally we have to wait a bit but not too bad. Our group likes mobile ordering. Even if we have to wait for it to be ready sometimes, it's still usually better than waiting in the regular line!

ETA: This is on an iPhone. Not sure if it looks the same on other phones!

I’m old as sin but I’ve grown to absolutely love mobile ordering!

You can set up an order in the morning/evening, pick your time. You are committed to nothing! You can edit the time or order… you can even cancel if you change your mind. Nothing happens until you press “I’m here prepare my order” which I usually do as I’m headed over to the restaurant. By that time I have the “it’s ready” message, I just pick up my food and enjoy.

I wish every CS place offered mobile ordering!

Me, too! Well, maybe not THAT old - but we've really started to enjoy to mobile order options. And that's what it is, an option. You can go into a place and order like it used to be, or you can utilize mobile order, make your food choices, and then pick a time window to get it - it works well for us. The ONLY thing I wish we could do is tie the mobile ordering to our MDE and charge it to the room. But we understand that not everyone doing the mobile ordering has a room to charge to, so that's not really an option - but it would be nice!

Also agree with the response above - if you have any allergy or food specific requirements, don't try to figure it out through mobile ordering. Go to the location and order there to make sure you're getting what you need.

There are allergy friendly menus at some places. Depends on the allergy but for milk, peanut/tree nut, shellfish, etc. it’ll show what is available. We order allergy friendly and non-allergy friendly on the same mobile order. No need to go into the location to order in person unless you have an allergy that isn’t one of the ones shown, or want to customize the order. 0F0D3933-F95D-4C44-8B7F-61224C089689.png

We enjoy Mobile Ordering. It has worked well for us and can be a time-saver, a precious commodity while on vacation. We typically don’t visit during peak busy seasons, so it may not work as smoothly then. But our experiences have been positive.

And when you pick it up, is it in a bag, on a tray, etc?

You will get a notification on the app. when your order is ready (after you have clicked prepare my order) it will have a window or line number for where you pick it up. It will be on a try just like if you ordered it in person. You will have already paid for it when you ordered so you just show your order # on your phone and pick up your tray. I think (and don't quote me I might be wrong) there are a number of videos out there on the process.

Thank you, will seek out a video!~!

We've never done this either. Since you can't charge to your room I'm wondering about paying since I don't want to carry credit cards during the day. Is there Apple Pay?
Also I'm curious if people have found their hot food, hot? I feel like if we order as usual when we get there we'd get the food asap when it's ready but this might be tricky to gauge when you order mobile? Does it let you know how many minutes until its ready?
Thanks
