So I understand we can place a mobile order in the morning for say a 12:30 lunch, does anyone know how long it usually takes for the QS to prepare the food once we hit “I’m here, prepare my order”? I’ve read about all of the long QS lines, is that mostly people just waiting to initially place their orders or is the wait also really long for them to prepare our orders? We go in just over 1 week and I’m trying to plan what to expect. Thanks!

I have a friend there this week and her advice was to hit "I'm here" while walking to get the order to avoid the wait. She recommended hitting that about 5 min before arriving since you aren't allowed in to pick up until you have a notification that the order is ready.

But I know they were ordering while in the park as they decided what they wanted to eat, not necessarily in advance like you are suggesting. The people outside would likely be just placing their orders.

I think it depends on the location and time. Ordered at Ronto's Roaster around 10:45, window to return started at 10:55, but I guess at some point before that I was able to choose I was there, bec next picture on phone is that order was ready at 10:52. same experience at Satuli canteen, ordered at 10:20, return started at 10:30, I then have a picture of my food (yes, we do that,) at 10:42, so not all that long
However....my experience at Backlot Express was the complete opposite, and all I was getting was the stupid Halloween treat/drink...placed the order, and the return window was not for another 30-40 mins, then when I hit that I was there, it took another 15-20 mins to get the order......
So, I would suggest doing what we usually do and eat early, and not order/eat during peak lunchtime, like I did with backlot express. There were a LOT of people milling around waiting, and it was recommended we go wait in the Indy show area. Hubby had ordered food at PizzaRizzo just a little before us, and didn't wait nearly as long.

This is helpful. I wonder if when the return window is 30-40 min. that is my clue to move on....I would rather not place an order and do something else than feel tied to the order/area for a hour. I am going the week of Christmas and plan to go with the flow but having knowledge never hurt :)
